Crystal Raiders VR

Crystal Raiders VR is an enjoyable virtual reality adventure game, and I have to admit, the trailers didn't convince me right away, it wasn't until the first game session that I realized just how enjoyable Crystal Raiders VR is. Online Co-op Gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-jAN586U_0 So you will have to overcome levels alone or together with other VR players that are filled with hostile crystal creatures and challenging and cunning traps, these traps & enemies are quite simple and small at the start but the further you go in the game the bigger & harder the enemies are and the traps more dangerous or complicated, Playing through a first set of levels also sparks curiosity to find out how the game will further challenge you as a player. You will have to fight enemies using some ranged & meelee weapons and also grenades, these grenades are not only useful for defeating hordes of enemies but also for finding secret locations that are often hidden behind a cracked wall where you can find chests that reward you with extra coins. Other hidden places can sometimes be found in a corner where your attention does not go quickly so always look around. You will also always have to find a route to get to the final destination of the levels, in addition to traps and enemies you will also have to activate certain mechanisms that, for example, place bridges correctly or open gates, to do this you will also need to find hidden crystals and hit them with one of your weapons. The game also has an online leaderboard and character customization options with many options including weapons.

Although it is challenging, It's just not fun to play. The gameplay is too simple yet almost unfair in its challenge at times. The interactions are poor. The combat is not exciting or engaging. The puzzles are too simple. The platforming is difficult, but not mentally challenging, but just frustrating with the poor controls. I have fallen in the lava several times. You have to restart the level from the very beginning when this happens. There's this one section in the third level where you have to jump from rock to rock to avoid hitting the lava. The controls are floaty so it's just difficult to jump correctly each time. One misstep and it's back to the very beginning. You have 3 main weapons, including melee, gun, or bow & arrow. You can also use grenades (which also breaks some breakable walls). I kept seeing the same enemy types for each of the 3 levels I experienced. There's just more of them as you go along. However, the traps and platforming do get more difficult as you go along. You have less space to move as you're fighting enemies. You will more than likely fall in the lava at some point. The level designs are boring. The art style is not easy on the eyes. Using the bow and arrow is really bad as the bow mechanic is really poor. Arrows would shoot even when I didn't let go of the trigger button. The default move speed is too slow, luckily you can toggle running which is a decent speed. You have full locomotion and snap turning. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 fps on high graphical settings. There's not much positive I can say about this game. It's too rough around the edges, even for an Early Access Release. I will say that the 3rd level did bring some surprises with the difficult platforming. However, with no checkpoints it's a pain to have to re-do the entire level. This game is challenging, but it often feels like the biggest challenge is the poor controls and the poor interactions. I didn't want to continue playing after 1 hour of playing this game. Crystal Raiders VR kann mit bis zu 4 Spielern im Koop gespielt werden. Es macht Spaß jedoch gibt es das ein oder andere zu Verbessern. Z. B. Die Bogenmechanik und fehlender smooth turn. Crystal Raiders is a good VR game. It could be played alone or with a total of 4 persons. I played the first levels and each level shows the same but also new enemies. You could handle 2 weapons at the same time. There is a melee weapon, gun, bow and a grenade. Of course, when you use the bow, you need bow hands to handle it. Yes, there are traps and there is a lot of lava to get over with. I tried the co-op part with a friend. We could connect and play together without any problem. In the levels there is also gold to find. With that gold you could buy new outfits, other weapon models and other abilities like flaming arrows. My first VR game. It's pretty hard for new VR users, but very fun with friends. Nice visual, unusual enemies and big bosses. Recommend to try it!
