Don't buy this if you want to play Co-op. This requires a dedicated server to play.
I would like to recommend this game, because it had something to it.. but in the end, i got bored from all that grinding and exhausting cannister/bottle-swapping to get ressources, so i decided to use creative-mode after reaching tier 5. I saw all the game has to offer in 19h and it only took me so long, because there is no way to make that character move faster and there was a lot of grinding involved. The event bosses are too hard for one person, as there is no way to evade their attacks, but other than that, the fights are ok balanced i guess. What this game needs, is a lot more content, maybe NPCs, random encounters, more ruins or other things to explore.. because right now, it feels frustrating if you walk 20min through a biome, just to find, that it's all the same. or if you walk to the end of the map, just to find out, that the "arctic" biome, has nothing to offer, but polar bears and white wolves. I think the game has potential, but there are so many survival games out there, that you have to do better, if you want to make an impression. Would still recommend for any casual player/group who just wants to hang out from time to time and grind a bit, to improve their base.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The game is too easy in single player mode. I also dislike that I can’t rotate objects or use a controller in-game either. But hey, it was on sale for $2 so I can’t really complain. At least progression doesn’t take ages to get anywhere.

Not fun, dedicated server setup is a hassle as well.
Cool put no. top down rust. Dead servers w/ 2 week wipe cycles.
It was a really solid game in the beginning. Needs more, WAY more content, best to play if you have friends. Solo game grind is terrible, and the server wipes are a big annoyance. Only buy if it's on sale for 50% or more. Devs don't care about this game anymore.
Its a OK game but heres the few things ive noticed (ONLY BUY IF ITS DIRT CHEAP) 1.building is ok ......BUT having farm plots and land claims unmovable once placed is just poor design since you don't explain the fact you cant build near cliffs 2.very boring playing solo, i was wishful thinking there were NPC tribes but i was wrong 3. Its a better looking Dumbdown RimWorld concept
While PvP survival and base building video games have always been popular, Cryofall attempts an entry into this category by appearing as a niche given that it's designed as a 2.5D world. The problem with this approach is that it takes the notion of "competitive PvP" and eliminates certain factors that make great PvP what it is. You have a complete aerial overview of each cardinal direction and can see any threats nearby or that are approaching your location off-screen. There's less reliance upon mechanical skills like aiming and tracking or outplaying your opponent to win because of how much of the map you can see no matter which direction your character is facing. There's no stealth or patience as you await the perfect opportunity to assault their base or to attack someone when they least expect it. There's no real defensive base building system because they're going to see you or your traps no matter what, making the PvP one-dimensional where it all plays out the same: you observe which one of you has advanced higher in the game's tech tree (where you unlock more advanced technology, weaponry, mechs, etc) and if they're shooting lasers, and you're still using bullets, then you should probably just run or give up your base because there's no point in trying to defend. Other PvP survival games done right, like Rust, can have you winning those duels if you're just a better player. Newbies to the video game are going to be griefed repeatedly until the inevitable server wipe, which is clearly implemented to reset everybody to an equal playing field, except nobody is truly equal here because those who can 'no-life' the video game will already be at higher tiers than you as playing the game for at least 10 hours per day is what is basically required for decent progression. I don't think that the game is bad for what it is, but it was essentially designed to be played on PvP servers, and the priority of PvP makes playing it solo or as a PvE experience boring after a while. Because the game is getting older, and because it was probably never that popular to begin with, you can look at the online server list and, on a Saturday, see maybe a dozen servers with around 50 people spread throughout. Some PvE, some PvP. I can't understand when developers have such an obsession with making their video game PvP-centered that they sacrifice ideas and development time on making PvE fun. While I enjoy PvP, you're alienating a large portion of a playerbase by telling them "this is the optimal way to play our video game" and your video game is already going to lose the interest of many players simply just because it looks like and plays like an RPGMaker game. The reason for playing multiplayer servers and cooperating with random players, or at least hosting your own private server for you and your friends, is because you will quite literally spend 100+ hours just to get to "tier 4" of the technology tree, out of 5 tiers, even with other players helping with the base. There is an excessive grind to this game that necessitates teamwork if you actually want to beat the game or at least unlock the coolest technology items such as the hoverboard and the mech. In fact, it's more ideal to customize the settings of the game so that drop rates and other values are improved by more than double the default values if you can't invest multiple hours per day into this game. This will allow you to obtain more resources for less effort, but if you need to negate the grindiness of a game by resorting to this method, then it's really just proof that the game is a bit too grindy for its own good. And for the development team, there really isn't any downside to making the game less grindy by default. It'd improve the entire game by equalizing PvP servers and making the solo game or PvE more fun. The developers just have to understand that prolonging playtime by forcing players to grind for hours upon hours just to beat their game is a tacky tactic. There's even real-time decay on a lot of items, like food, so a lot of your perishable items and resources are going to expire when you are offline and unable to collect/use them. This is one of those video games that gets equated to a real life job in that it becomes an obligation more than a fun video game to play.
