6/10
Simplistic turned based combat and roguelike elements. Good to turn off the brain and play.
Crying Suns is a FTL game with a great narrative. The games setting can best be described as a DUNE-Like Setting similar like it is build up in the books by Frank Herbert while taking inspiration from other games and literature as well. At its score its a resource managing game with real-time-strategy fighting in space and skill-checks performed by agents in your retinoue. You have to manouver clusters of stars while keeping pace of your resouces to fight sector-bosses at the end of each area. Quick rating if you wish for a short "Yes" or "No" recommedation: YES, 9/10, great game, get it.

It's got a cool aesthetic, neat lore, decent gameplay. Some of the writing isn't amazing. The game is generally smooth and feels polished. FTL-style game.
It is good at a discount. Enough systems to keep you engaged but not overwhelming and nail-biting like FTL.... As others state, it definitelly needs more content (boons, banes, weapons, encounters, stories, you name it). I mean, you have the framework devs, just add stuff ! even in large paid DLC.

- Way too expensive for what it is
It is the best game i have played. great story, great replayability, awesome graphic style, good ingame balance, wellsuited soundtrack.
incredibly immersive gameplay for a 2GB game, between world-building, game mechanics and most of all PLOT, this tiny little game can drag you away from wherever you are and bring you into the empire. the mechanics are many, varied and original, it's extremly strategic and requires long-term planning as well as last minute decisions (to fix mistakes created by your previos ♥♥♥♥♥♥ deciosions). the plot is just breathtaking, worth reading every line
