i had high hopes but its really not worth 9 dollars, game just repeats itself there isnt really much content also i think it would be really cute if critters actually looked different and unique but because they all have the same simple eyes (which is literally the most important thing) they look boring and not cute enough. It still would be better if there was more content but it literally the same thing over and over after like 30 minutes of playing its more like a kids game with easiest puzzles ig but the characters look super cute and collecting and decorating stuff is fine so i'll just keep playing for that so its not that bad but i just expected more
Overall, I like the game. The problem is the frequent crashing. I play on a ROG Ally and have never experienced crashing before this game. I purchased the game, so I hope it gets fixed soon.
Yyyeahhh I dont really like this game sorry. I think the characters are really...ugly. :( They just look so weird and uncute... So are the critters. They are really unappealing and make annoying sounds. Anytime i was about to rescue one all i could think of was "man i wish i could just do the puzzle and leave without rescuing that little freak..." Speaking of Puzzles they were the most fun of the game i guess... They are quite easy. But after being so bored of the entire game it felt fun. The cafe games werent really fun. The first mini game was allright i liked pouring coffee for the customers but rest were just....kinda weird? random non-rhytmic rhytm game and memory game for 2 years olds is not really giving cafe vibes. :( Anytime my character moves they had this really annoying motion blur i couldnt turn off it was really hard to look at until my eyes slightly adjusted. Decorating the cafe was fun until i had to serve the customers. Oh my god i made a cute design and it was so annoying to walk around. Because customers just sit randomly rather than one table having one order. So you have to squeeze thru chairs and or aim your weird camera weirdly towards the customer. I didnt really like the shading used on the envoirement. It looks so...weird? And i REALLY hated the layout of the maps!! Especially the Emerald town!!! It had signs for everything EXCEPT the first place i needed to go. The stupid hotel. I just walked past it without knowing (Because it had a sign next to it...a sign that points to SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR SOMETHING ELSE. RIGHT NEXT TO THE HOTEL.) and spent like 10 minutes walking around wasting my time looking for the hotel. The critter caring was boring. You just have few buttons and it plays automatic unskippable cutscene. I guess if you are young or like extremely simple game plays...you might like it? But i dont think its for me :( Im really dissapointed because i like dress up, decoration, and cafe games and this is just so empty and boring for me...
o jogo é legal mas depois de 5 horas começa a ficar repetitivo, o final achei muito nada a ver mas tudo certo
I really wanted to like this game. I played it for 13 hours and got 79% of the achievements. I am probably another few hours away from finishing it, but I don't really feel motivated to fire this back up for the ribbon. I hope that absence will make the heart grow fonder and a future Me will be willing to get it to the finish line, but I doubt what I say here will make her want to install critter cafe again. What worked: + Some complete ideas: the cafe is a place with decorations and recipes, customers, and mini games, the outside maps are little places and towns, the portals open, you do the little challenge maps, find the critter, ta-da, simple + cute aesthetic, options: different skins for creatures and decorations + bingeable (to a point, in my case) Improvements: - For a game that wants you to perform timing and jumping challenges it is remarkably poor at keeping track of your location. - The simplicity becomes repetition becomes tedium - Timing and jumping became a huge part of the puzzles by the end (23 critters caught) and I found them frustrating. Why is this cozy cafe game about these puzzle maps anyhow? - Running the cafe is not fun. I mostly put on parties. - There is no story here, like, why is this cafe owner getting magical hammers in the mail then taking them through portals to an unknown realm to complete strange puzzles using the items she gets in the mail....? - BIG GRIND- same actions taken over and over to move the bars ever onward. actions: rescue a critter from a demonic hellscape (?), fulfill cafe orders for a really dissatisfying experience, or put on a critter party. - Critter parties can bite me~! what is with the color requests and the colors available not being clear, like, this is a brown chair with a green cushion, but it is not appropriate for a brown or green request?! Like, exsqueaze me??? The rest of the quest is really braindead, because it is like, cards night and you click the cards unless you're some kind of rebel without a cause. And I didn't always have a non-fainted critter to put into the party that fit the request, and I still got XP, albeit less. So the options for the party aren't super important. None of it feels super important. - Can't rename critters - lowkey feels like you're playing a tablet game
This game has been such a surprise, It's relaxing and cozy with some problem solving on the side. I recommend purchasing if you're a collector as it will have you hooked trying to obtain all of the critters and the puzzles aren't so difficult that its not enjoyable, there are multiple locations, decorating, care etc included also. The only fault I would give is I would love to have been able to interact with the towns people but this has only come up as the game has exceeded my expectaions!
Cute little game. Good combination of cute creature collecting, customisation, exploration, and light, relaxing platforming puzzles. If I were to suggest anything else for future patches or sequels, I would have liked to see: 1. Customisation in this be a bit more meaningful - at present, whilst there is a pleasing number of options to unlock to furnish your cafe and the habitat for your critters, there isn't any meaningful reason to engage with that feature other than pure cosmetics. I would like to have some mechanical effect to it - for instance, certain critters liking certain areas of the habitat and being happier if certain furnishings are present; and 2. A bit more levelling that is possible for the critters. It generally feels like the traits are only gained at a point where you'll use them a little bit and then the critter is maxed out, at which point the incentive is to then switch to using other critters to get them levelled up as well. Alternatively, a bigger incentive to use maxed-out critters might be good.
