This otome-style visual novel blends eeriness and romance into a compelling drama. A ring of deadly towers traps you in the small mining town of Bataille, Missouri with extreme conspiracy theorists, a serial killer, and wealthy vampires. Choose your partner wisely.

This is an incredible game. Crimson Spires is essentially a dating sim combined with a horror-mystery, but WOW does it transcend those labels. It's extremely well-written (especially August and his route), the characters are fully fleshed out and have their own motivations and secrets, and the atmosphere of the game is at once grim and exciting. It delves into not only the mystery of the town's situation, but also into philosophy, spirituality, and the human psyche. Each character's story sheds a little more light on the mystery, so I recommend playing them all. All that said - I cannot recommend playing the New Game +. It reads as a forced polyamory fanfiction in which a lesbian is pushed into a relationship with men. It doesn't feel like an extension of the game and doesn't reveal anything about the mystery that we don't already know by that point. Overall, I'm giving it a 4.5/5 stars.
This is a great game it keeps your interest and is very re-playable. A fun time was had by all.
Okay, so, you got me; this story (the setting surrounding the characters) was constructed well enough that I was curious to learn more. It was a little tedious to have to wade through the repetitive parts of the dialog/story to do so (thanks be to the skip button), but I thought it was clever that there were different pieces of the puzzle in each tangent. Once I realized what I perceived to be the inspiration for the setting, I was impressed. You got me again. ;-) Even with the inconsistencies, I still was hoping to find all the answers. I was disappointed by the final endings, but in a way I can see why; the story has to end *somewhere*. Picking where and how is the hard part. You can't please everyone. No technical issues; functioned well. I was a bit annoyed that I couldn't make the text speed any faster, though. That, and the scene changes felt a bit sluggish, but that could just be me - or my computer - who knows. There is swearing throughout the dialog, but as far as being "sexual"... I didn't think it was overly sexual at all. Every sexual moment... wasn't, in my opinion. But, considering the good chance that the majority of the audience is probably underage, I guess the developers just played it safe and left the scenes incredibly vague. It ...almost... felt like there should be a DLC, or something, that would unlock more; just the way the visuals were presented, etc. Who knows. This game definitely had a "horror meets sci-fi meets X-Files" vibe. And, if I am honest... even the X-Files never gave all the answers. We still kept watching, anyway.
I am completely engrossed by this story. Crimson Spires has invaded my dreams and inner thoughts and I will have no rest until I finish all the routes and get conclusions to each mystery.
You could never regret buying this game! I am too lazy to write the kind of review this game deserves but it's one of the best visual novels I have ever played. Love the voice acting, August and Julian are super sexy. August is one of the sexiest fictional characters in history. Great story for western audiences. There is a good philosophical understanding behind the writing. Only the endings could be better and especially August's storyline's progression could be improved. The main character is sometimes weirdly inconsistent. But despite any errors, it is an AMAZING game!!! Would recommend 10/10. There's no better story like this for western audiences.
It means whatever the hell you want
Crimson Spires is a breath of fresh air that I really needed! I feel like it's been a loooong time since I found a visual novel that made me feel like this game does. The aesthetics are eye-catching and very cohesive throughout the story, soundtrack sets the tone perfectly, the actors are wonderful, and the story was honestly not what I expected at all in the best way. I appreciate how much focus there is on the mystery, not just on Erika and her love interests. Every little detail I get leaves me wondering more about the worldbuilding and I never felt dragged through the story. I'm so disappointed that this game doesn't have more of a fandom, this is the type of narrative that makes me want to spend hours watching video essays and story analyses' on youtube!

I loved the game so much, the atmosphere with the music, the 3D searching sequences that were incorporated into the gameplay, as well as the voice acting!! Personally, the little romance in the routes wasn't much of a problem for me, since it wasn't the most important part of the story, but I see how it might be a deal breaker for some people. That said, I do have a couple issues.
First of all, Julian's route. In one of the endings the mc has a poly relationship with Julian and Charlotte, who are siblings by the way?? I can't get over that. And the fact that Erika completely disregards her morals after switching to the 'vampire' side politically. Just doesn't seem characteristic of her imo.

Having finished all of the routes, I still have so many questions unanswered about the origin of the towers, the BRS, the strange figure that the mc saw. I understand that a lot of the 'mystery' is most likely intentional, but I'm still left slightly frustrated.
Great character building and plot. I definitely got wrapped up in the mystery and it will eat at my brain for awhile, even though I've finished all the routes. Also, I was really surprised when
I fell for the serial killer - and I would do it again!
. I would definitely recommend this game.
