Having a very innovative take on the classic Sudoku formula, "Crime Reaper" is a game that teases the mind like the aforementioned game, while also treating you to a fun and humorous story. The game features several difficulty options, so whether you are good or not-so-good at puzzle games, "Crime Reaper" will have something for you! Rest assured, if you are into challenge, then the harder difficulties will definitely be up your alley! And rest assured, your brain may be tested, but you will be smiling the entire time.
The description makes it sound like there's a storyline. It's just solving bad sudoku puzzles.

Very Good cross between a logic puzzle and Sudoku .
If sudoku could be used to solve murders, i think it would go a lot like this
Hmm... the concept & puzzle type is neat but it doesn't end up feeling particularly... deep, either. It's just a sudoku variant more focused on chaining together a set of rules to place pieces, with a tentative (not really impactful) crime framing where all the crimes are procedurally generated and solving crimes barely correlates with the "story" (which is just mini-vignettes that don't tie together or build to anything). I also feel "Expert" difficulty is actually easier than "Hard" for whatever reason, which, interesting. Mostly it feels... more like a tech demo than a complete product, honestly, I can't say it feels worth the $9 price tag even if it's a kinda neat puzzle type. Get it on sale if you're curious.
A competent, minimalist, sudoku-ish puzzler. Not too hard, even on the largest sized puzzles, which are procedurally generated so you'll never run out. Only complaint is that the tile sorting area could be bigger. Runs great on Linux.
A good little sudoku-like with a delightful theme and a bare-bones story linking it together. If you enjoy logic puzzles, you'll probably like this one: the clues are well-planned, the puzzles are procedural so they don't get old, and it's just different enough from sudoku to be a fun change of pace. Plus, the sound effects are weirdly satisfying? If you're an avid sudoku player, you might not like it quite as well. Even at extreme difficulty, it never gets all that extremely difficult - but it does get frustrating not to be able to mark possible placements in any way. The clues often narrow down a piece's placement quite early, but require a lot more of the board to be cleared before you can nail the exact spot, so you'll end up referring back to the same clue repeatedly if your memory isn't great. It can also get samey, but then, so does sudoku. That's kind of its whole thing.
Fun variant on Sudoku (well, same 'genre', anyway), and quite accessible (they consistently pair each color with a shape, like blue squares). When i started the game, 'Beginner' felt overwhelming, and a half-dozen games later I could consistently solve 'Normal' games flawlessly, though they required careful thought. Doesn't have manual 'marking', as far as I could see, but it's rare that you'd need it.
It's a neat game, but 2 things it could really use are a harder difficulty than the current expert and a way to note which locations you have eliminated for a particular symbol. The current expert difficulty is still only 2 minute puzzle once you get a bit of practice and the greatest challenge is honestly when you need to keep more than 2 clues in your head in order to figure out where to put the next symbol.
