Creeper World: Anniversary Edition

Классическая игра серии Creeper World. Несмотря на относительно простую механику, здесь можно неплохо проявить творческий подход при обустройстве собственной защиты и нападения. Незамысловатый сюжет, однако, действительно грамотно вводит игрока в суть дела, постепенно позволяет ему наращивать собственный арсенал и не даёт заскучать. Если же хочется немного набить руку, оттачивая навыки при одном и том же сценарии взаимодействия с врагом — добро пожаловать в раздел завоевания (Conquest). При наличии желания проверить себя на выносливость — вас ждёт раздел специальных операций (Special Ops). Лично я, если честно, с радостью прошёл сюжет, заскучал на завоеваниях (25 уровней с одним и тем же ходом сражения — шутка ли?) и на последних этапах специальных операций всё же немного пораскинул мозгами, ибо там вполне хватает нескольких нестандартных карт и расстановок. Впрочем, я бы лично игру посоветовал по большей части исключительно ради сюжета, чтобы можно было с пониманием вселенной Creeper World перейти в дальнейшие игры — вторую и (особенно!) третью.

I loved this game when I was a kid and I still love it now. Its style feels so classic and nostalgic. It's such a simple tower defense game but SO engaging and addicting. Despite having few towers, there is a surprising depth to the strategy, and the ability to move towers around feels very unique. I also love how rewarding it feels to beat a level, whether by activating the rifts as quickly as possible or by completely destroying all creeper before moving on. Definitely worth the price!

I played this game around a decade ago. And even when I had no idea what I was doing or what I was supposed to do. It was still pretty fun. Now that I actually know what I'm doing (and I know all the story and lore) It's still very fun. It is a somewhat passive strategy, tower defense game. Though there are certain objectives that require you to move quickly or lose the level. Though none of them are ever blitheringly hard.

I have zero nostalgia blinding me and this is a boring game that provides no challenge. The music was amazing tho

Before I played this game, I played through Creeper World 4. CW4 is one of the few games that I got all the achievements for and it's looking like I'll fetch myself another 100% with this one. Now that I've played through the story mode of this game, I'm gonna be honest. This game is great. It does have some rough edges which were later ironed out in Creeper World 4 at least. Every turret has a clear use case, even though you will find yourself not using every turret in every map. In theory, you can probably beat all but one map without using more than the first turret and some questionable APM shenanigans but still, you can play how you want and see where it leads you. Which is to say that this game is really cool as it allows you to play with your tools how you want. The maps themselves are rather... simple compared to later installments but for a game the could've been around during the times of flash games which it probably was in eons past, this was already awesome. Which is to say, the simple design still leaves enough room for you to plan around the terrain and all that. That being said, MASSIVE props to the entire team for making this game as fun as it is even without super fancy map tools and such. I cannot imagine what we would've done if not for the insane performance of the developer and Senior Developer. Virgil Wall really should be promoted from Intern to some important position though. They seemed really cool with all they helped out with when creating the game.

Very good game, fun gameplay loop. 100% achievement is brought down by lots of tedium. in order to unlock the unique "special ops" missions you first have to complete sets of 5 completely randomly generated levels. these levels have terrible pacing and turn playing the interesting spec ops levels into a boring slog. theres about 30 of these random levels you must complete to get access to all special ops levels. However, the campaign is still fun, spec ops still fun, good game.
