Очень милая игра <3 Люблю малышей норнов. К сожалению плохо оптимизирована для современных ОС, в первой и второй частях у меня не работает набор генетики... В интернете не могу найти информацию по тому как это исправить. :(
Creatures: The Albian Years is a bundle containing both Creature and Creatures 2, which are some of the most unique and interesting life simulator/sandbox games ever made. There was nothing quite like them back then, and there still isn't anything like them to this day. With any potential sequels being officially canceled, I feel as if now is a better time than ever to give Creatures a shot and experience them the way they were back in the 90s. Creatures: The Albian Years is a life simulator mixed with a sandbox game, there is no goal, you're just thrown into the world with some eggs to hatch and the rest is up to you. You can teach them any language you want and guide them throughout their life, or you can hatch the eggs and watch them attempt to survive alone as they develop their own language. The only complaint I have is that playing Creatures 2 here in 2024 is a rough experience due to technical difficulties, it's playable but the performance is pretty horrid. If you're into life simulators with a ton of freedom, moddability, and customization, then Creatures: The Albian Years is the perfect game for you.
My friends hated this game when I made them play it :( Listen to their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ opinions on The First Hour Podcast (www.thefirsthourpod.com)
Я играю в неё чтобы потратить время на всякую фигню но КАКОГО ЧЕРТА ОНА ИДЕТ ПРИМЕРО В 20 ФПС КАКОГО ЧЕРТА но мне нравиться убивать норнов
if you've never played creatures before, and you're into virtual pets or a-life style games where you take care of little critters, PLAY THIS GAME. i haven't played creatures 2 yet, i wanted to start with creatures 1 to help get me introduced and because it was the first one i learned about, and i can't overstate how badass this game is. it is definitely the type of game where you have to make your own fun, and it really doesn't tell you what the hell you're doing, which sucks, but i've had a blast combing through old websites to learn more about the game and how the norns work. for a quick rundown on the game and how cool it is: think of the sims except you basically have no real control. you hatch a norn, and take it up to the computer to start teaching it commands. there's a set of 14 commands you can teach your norn to interact with the world, and then like 15 or so categories of objects your norn can interact with. they can learn very basic language, and teach it to their children. norns have a simplified version of our bodies down to simplified versions of testosterone/estrogen cycles, adrenaline levels, etc, even a simplified version of our genome. over time, you will create families of norns that will have babies with unique genetic mutations. over time, you can breed norns that live forever, or age rapidly and then die, norns that get joy from getting smacked, or norns that feel pain every time they eat. if you've ever played creatura and messed with the genome sequencing and wobbledogs, it's like a fusion of those two with even more features. i have seen people get enjoyment out of this game over the span of 30 years, it's honestly a little technological marvel to me! definitely give the manual a read on internet archive if you decide to get the game and start playing!

Amazing update of an absolutely classic game! Endlessly entertaining as is, and installing new objects and areas (called COBs in game) can refresh your experience in unprecedented ways. Recommended for anyone interested in simulation.
its amazing! you can teach them talking! and stuff! huge milestone in artificial life
some of the recent reviews say they cant get the game to work and i ran into this as well. im not sure what happened with *them* (im playing creatures 2) but for me, i just had to launch the game again. i didnt use the default world and if your world asks for a password when you selected there not to be one, continue on anyway and it worked for me. gave me a warning it might not work, but its been fine. a little buggy at times where my norn got stuck in one place but i just exported and imported to teleport her and it fixed her. a lot of stuff ive ran into can be fixed with "turn it off and on again" lol love this game so far, highkey i wish i grew up with it. not for people who dont want to take their time, though frfr
I love this game and loved it as a child also. Only thing I wish I could figure out is how to get the window to take up the full screen without it crashing. Great game though.
