Reviews
Unique blend of retro, cozy, and creepy that's fun to sit with for ~2 hours. Gameplay aspects are lacking, but I don't think that's what this game set out to provide. It's a hard game to not recommend, since it's such a low investment and doesn't do anything plainly wrong, but I don't know that the overwhelmingly positive reviews actually represent the overall quality of this game. 99% positive tells me "must play", and this is much more of a "maybe play this for the vibe". RECOMMENDED FOR The aesthetics are well done. The 4:3 aspect ratio, low poly textures, and dithering/pseudo-CRT filter combine for a very cozy feeling. Simultaneously, the game does try to present as a bit creepy with the low-light environment, constant lightning/thunder, creaking of the house, and supernatural creatures. It's a fun combo that I haven't seen done before, maybe only by Animal Well. NOT RECOMMENDED FOR The puzzles are surface level and the cooking aspect is barebones. Once you've made a quarter of the dishes, it feels like you've cooked them all.
such a cute and fun game
At first I thought it was a horror game and while there are moments with a creepier atmosphere, it quickly becomes apparent how cute this game is. Cooking meals for your buddies is so fun, and the game is very easy to get through in one sitting. The ending was well done and very reminiscent of the end of Outer Wilds (another game I absolutely love.) Well worth the price! I'll think back on this one fondly.
Its been a long time since a game made me feel sad that it was over. The Peace the tranquility of it all, its perfect. Cheers to you Fellow Stewards, may you find some peace in this small slice of paradise.
Absolute cinema. I'd do anything for these little guys
👍
It is cute, cozy. and it made me feel fuzzy while playing. I would recommend!
not now mom, i'm making a bean burrito for mothman
This game oozes quiet brilliance. Honestly, I've played a few new releases this year, and this is one of the most enjoyable. It's a joyous experience, totally unique and pleasant in a way that belies the "cozy" tag that I generally try to avoid, tbh. Get it! I'm desperate for these devs to succeed so I can see what they make next :)
