About

Crawl Tactics combines classic turn-based tactics with roguelike progression. In Dungeon Mode, face challenging, ever-changing encounters as you explore procedurally generated maps. In Quest Mode, develop your village, train your mercenaries, and defend against growing enemy invasions.

Crawl Tactics is not a puzzle-like tactical game focused on finding one correct solution, but a turn-based strategy RPG forfans of classic, orthodox SRPGs.
You can enjoy deep tactical gameplay that considers height differences, unit facing, weather, terrain, and more.
Traps and terrain affect both you and your enemies. Set grass on fire, electrocute enemies standing on water, or ignite poison clouds.
Various interactions are possible through pushing/throwing objects and units. Push enemies off high ground or into blade traps, or roll boulders to hit them.
You can also activate cannons or crossbow traps to damage distant enemies, and all traps can trigger in chains for satisfying results.

You can freely customize skills, equipment, classes, techniques, and appearance.
Even after clearing the main dungeon, you can continue developing your characters through New Game Plus and Reverse, which allows you to reset classes even after advancing to higher tiers.
From a solo party to an 8-member battle party, you can build any party composition you want.
Dungeon Mode lets you explore dungeons composed of multiple rooms.
Both the dungeons and the battlefields within them are procedurally generated, providing challenging and varied experiences.
Ruins, caves, catacombs, forests—each features unique climates, monsters, and environments.
Every dungeon may include hostile or friendly NPCs, special mercenaries or valuable items, and unique events such as siege battles or defense missions.
In Quest Mode, you expand your village by constructing buildings each turn and hire multiple mercenaries, sending whichever ones you choose on the quests you want.
Rewards differ depending on the type of quest you undertake each turn, and you can also choose higher difficulties, allowing as much grinding as you prefer.
Through village events where monsters invade at set intervals, you can engage in larger-scale battles than in standard quests.

I dare say the this is one of the best tatical strategy rpg that I have ever played, everything I wanted to see in Final Fantasy Tatics and Ogre Battle.
A really dedicated dev.
10/10. Hard but rewarding. High replayability. A lot of interesting classes, subclasses and synergies to work with
이 게임의 가장 큰 단점은 내가 이제서야 이 게임을 알았다는 것이다
Did you enjoy Into the Breach or Tactics Ogre? Did you love diving into the Deep Dungeon or experimenting with random encounters in Final Fantasy Tactics? Do you like roguelikes? Are you fine with a game that skips story to focus entirely on deep, rewarding combat? If you answered yes to most of the above, Crawl Tactics is absolutely for you. It’s a gem for anyone who enjoys TRPG/SRPG combat and roguelike mechanics. The game’s early release looked rough, but since the December 11, 2025 v3.0 patch and subsequent updates, the developer has clearly put in serious work improving it.
Pros:

Tactical combat Weather, elevation, traps, terrain reactions, chain reactions, party alignment, light resource management, light base management (in Quest mode), roster decisions, and occasional events all come together beautifully.
Unit customization A large ~40 class roster, class stat growths, stat‑up choices, class abilities, skill upgrades, subclasses (for humans), beast races, class rebirth, and equipment decisions provide excellent depth.
Two play modes A long‑term Quest mode with base progression, or a single‑run Dungeon mode with multiple starting party options for replayability.
Enemy and map variety Usually good and actively affects what units you consider to counter enemy composition, what abilities to swap in, and your approach to the map conditions.
Roguelike mechanics They fit naturally into the tactical framework.

Neutral:

Class balance Most of the ~40 classes are fun and have a niche, but a few feel outclassed or too situational.
Soundtrack Solid, but not memorable. Nothing bad, nothing standout.
UI Tooltips can be unclear, and some mechanics require checking Community Discussions. The encyclopedia helps, and the UI has improved over time with ongoing iteration.
Grind Default difficulty settings can feel grindy, but difficulty options let you boost experience gain and other modifiers, hence not a con. Long-term progression is tied to grinding out a limited resource. If you enjoy the combat, then new play options naturally open up as you finish experimenting with your current options. Some may even prefer this.
Events and quests They add light variety but rarely change tactical decision‑making in a meaningful way.

Cons:

No story. This can be a pretty massive con and a reason to skip the game.
Limited objective variety Most missions boil down to “defeat the enemy.” Compared to other SRPGs/TRPGs, objective diversity is lacking.

Weird:

Gender‑related mechanics There’s a Jealous of Female effect that blocks recruiting more female units, event female units sometimes require a male or female leader, and an all female enemy group that specifically targets male‑led parties. Note, there is no Jealous of Male equivalent effect, nor event male units requiring specifically a male or female leader, nor all male enemy groups targeting female‑led parties.

tldr
A great combat‑only TRPG/SRPG with roguelike elements that scratches the Tactics Ogre or Final Fantasy Tactics strategy itch. Fully recommended if you don’t mind the lack of story and want 60–100+ hours of excellent tactical combat.
Игра неплохая, есть интересные задумки, большое количество классов, но однообразная.
Don't be misled by the simple graphics; this game is quite deep and highly playable.
good game
