The game itself is fun enough. works ok and looks ok. But there is no working online multiplayer. Developer dont respond to support requests. So do not buy if you are not planing to play this by your own.
Slightly more complex than the similar 'Patchwork' Digidice had done a great job with yet another non-offensive board game to pull out for your kids or grandma Each player has six boards to fill however, if one player fills all six, any boards you have left unfinished (with less than three 'patches' on it) are disregarded hurting your final score Pots act like patches to fill gaps (and add points to your tally as long as they are not 'patched' over) and (limited) cats can be placed instead of a pot allowing for a second item to be placed with it or the cat can be added to the draw pile to refill an empty section with more patches to select from After each of the six boards is filled you have the opportunity to move one of three markers up a scale to it's end to earn additional bonus points which could turn the tide of the game. The amount of spaces the markers can be moved is determined by how many pots/cats were placed in the finished board. Games run about four times long than a game of Patchwork if using two players But it's a great buy for those starting to get burnt out on Patchwork and want to kick its learnig curve up a notch.

The board game format this is based on is AMAZING but this online adaptation is a poor reflection of it. The board game version of this is gorgeous and easy to play. Despite having the exact same rules and 'pieces', this interface was designed in such a way as to be counter-intuitive to play even for someone who knows how to play Cottage Garden. If this was my first exposure to Cottage Garden it would put me off Uwe Rosenberg's amazing games, not encourage me to seek them out. Some specific issues: * Stilted/bulky turns, even when all players online together and playing at same time * No volume scale for music or sound effects or master volume option - just (1) off or (2) blasting your ears (can't talk with friends online and run any game sound at the same time) * Each of the "you need to click this next as part of turn order" is not visually obvious. Easy to think you've finished your turn when in fact everyone else is waiting for you to hit the slightly shadowed bottom right button for 'for real done' * No exit/quit button for the game without having to press Esc key or Alt-Ctrl-Del * Instead of watching players place pieces while they're doing it, you watch an ummoving screen then when the player finishes both they and you watch an animation of what they just did. Can we just watch in real time, please? Like we do in real life when playing the original board game version? * The interface and method for requesting and accepting friend requests not intuitive * Would not be able to fumble through how to play the game without either doing the demo or having played the board game version first. If you can't just jump in and figure it out as you go, or have a 'how to' or 'what comes next' available while playing, it won't be appealing to new users. * No reference materials available while playing if you have questions. Did not see a summary anywhere of rules, turn order, '?", what's next, etc. available on the interface while actively playing the game. * Scroll bar in menu should scroll appreciably, not 1% of the height of the page for each scroll.
Game is good, this version is not. Achievements, online and some of the interface is all borked. Fun when it works, which is rare. Avoid.
Das Spiel ist einfach entspannt, sehr nett gestaltet und genial.
Great game - very fun! However, the global achievements do not appear to be working. I played online, beat a higher-ranked opponent but no achievements showing up.
Very nice casual game. However, it seems the achievements are not currently working. I definitely have played online games but the achievement for that 'noob' - is not showing up.
DIGIDICED is the worst. Do not buy any of their games, including this one. They are always full of bugs and incomplete features, and the developers simply do not care.
Cottage Garden is a gentle, puzzle-driven strategy experience that successfully translates the tactile appeal of its board game origins into a clean and accessible digital format. Developed and published by DIGIDICED, it centers on the quiet satisfaction of organizing space efficiently, offering a gameplay loop that is more about thoughtful placement and steady planning than competition or urgency. From the moment it begins, the tone is unmistakably relaxed, inviting players into a slow-paced experience where careful decisions matter more than quick reactions. The core gameplay revolves around filling garden plots with differently shaped tiles representing clusters of flowers. Each player works with a limited grid, selecting pieces from a shared pool and placing them in ways that maximize space while avoiding awkward gaps. The challenge lies in anticipating how each piece will affect future placement options, as poorly planned moves can leave unusable spaces that are difficult to fill later. This creates a subtle but engaging puzzle dynamic, where every decision carries weight even if the overall pace remains calm. Completing a garden bed and scoring points based on remaining visible elements adds another layer of consideration, encouraging players to think not just about coverage but about efficiency. The digital adaptation handles these mechanics with clarity and ease. The interface is well-organized, presenting all necessary information without clutter, which allows players to focus entirely on their strategies. Actions such as selecting and placing tiles are intuitive, and the game smoothly manages rule enforcement, removing the need to track scoring or conditions manually. This accessibility makes it easy for newcomers to learn, while still preserving enough depth to keep experienced players engaged. The inclusion of tutorials and guided introductions helps ease players into the mechanics, ensuring that the learning curve remains approachable. One of the defining characteristics of Cottage Garden is its low-pressure design. Even in multiplayer modes, the experience feels more like parallel puzzle-solving than direct competition. Players work independently on their own boards, with limited interaction beyond selecting tiles from a shared supply. This creates a unique dynamic where the focus remains on personal optimization rather than disrupting opponents. For some, this results in a soothing and focused experience that emphasizes strategy without stress. For others, it may feel lacking in tension or direct engagement, particularly when compared to more competitive strategy games. Visually, the game leans into a bright and cheerful aesthetic that complements its theme. The gardens are filled with colorful flowers and small decorative details, giving each board a lively and inviting appearance. The artwork is clean and expressive, with enough variation to keep the visuals interesting without overwhelming the player. Subtle animations and environmental touches add charm, reinforcing the sense of a peaceful, carefully tended space. The sound design follows a similar philosophy, with soft, unobtrusive music that supports the relaxed atmosphere without drawing attention away from the gameplay. Despite its strengths, the game’s simplicity can become a limitation over time. The core mechanics remain consistent throughout, and there are few additional systems introduced to expand or evolve the experience. Once players become familiar with optimal strategies, matches can begin to feel predictable, reducing the sense of discovery that is present during early play sessions. The relatively low level of interaction between players may also limit replay value for those seeking a more dynamic or competitive experience. Even so, Cottage Garden succeeds in delivering a polished and faithful adaptation that stays true to its design philosophy. It offers a satisfying blend of puzzle-solving and light strategy, wrapped in a presentation that emphasizes comfort and clarity. The game’s flexibility—supporting solo play, local multiplayer, and online matches—makes it easy to enjoy in different contexts, whether for a quick session or a more extended playthrough. In the end, Cottage Garden stands out as a calm and approachable strategy title that prioritizes thoughtful play over intensity. It may not offer the depth or variety of more complex games, but it provides a consistently enjoyable experience for those who appreciate careful planning and relaxed pacing. Rating: 7/10
