«Coronavirus Quarantine Simulator»
So, at first there were a few bugs/issues that had me on the fence about this game. However after reaching out to the dev via social media, they responded pretty quickly and fixed the issues I had with the game, given it broke something else, buuut I give any dev willing to at least respond quickly kudos. So, I was surprised when they put out a fix so quickly! The only issue I have with the game is that there is no ability to change to window mode (or any resolution), no sound control, etc. Basically, there are no menu options beyond playing the game. The hand washing minigame was a pain in the butt to figure out, so that minigame is the only annoying one in the game. The game itself is silly enough to keep me entertained. I loved the shopping part, even if the NPCs could be really annoying and just stand forever in the one last spot you need to go. I did thoroughly enjoy myself with it. The tiny bit of text you get in-game when you do tasks and whatnot did make me giggle. I also thought it was pretty neat to have outside links for information about things like hand washing/social distancing in the score report (given, I didn't read the article or watch the video, but still found it pretty neat to have it). Overall, do I recommend the game? Sure, it's cheap and it's silly, so if you like either of those, then you'll enjoy this game. It's pretty simple and there isn't all that much to the game, and it's at least enjoyable to me, but I don't see anyone sinking in too much time into the game. Plus, kudos to the devs for quick responses!
I'd been keeping an eye on the various quickly-released Coronavirus-themed games - I don't know, wanting a memento of a cultural moment, or something - and this one looked like something more than most of the slapped-together efforts and reskins. I respect that it actually imparts some useful information (I hope that nobody is learning that they should wash their hands for the first time from a video game), and it feels eerily realistic. Perfect that the supermarket has mindless bugchasers standing around without a mask - there should just be a lot more of them for full realism, and they should actively invade your personal space. The wonky physics keep me from committing to it, though. After successfully completing the checkout I somehow bounced a tomato through the supermarket wall. Really, a good effort and perhaps an important document of this experience, just not something I'd recommend.
Gameplay

👑 Powered by HoI 4 Deu Curators group in German / English 👑⠀⠀⠀

Follow Main group
Follow Second group
Weitere Rezensionen von mir
(-> meine kleine Minikuratorengruppe:
Actually a decent game, you won't get much gameplay out of it but for the price its worth the few hours of fun.
A fun guide to respect quarantine rules with cool achievements such as ramming the toilet paper pyramid at the grocery store. The hand washing mechanics and grocery shopping experience were pretty interesting. These are where you have most of the interactivity. Worth a try but there is not much else to do after that. Keep your eating habits, social life, leisure, fitness, self-improvement, mental health, and restfulness up during the pandemic. The other aspect of the game like watching tv or playing the guitar is fixed with little interactivity. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BnEQcIqTEY
There are two things you MUST do in this life, one is eat a coconut, the other one is buy this game. Why? Let me explain to you, little popcorn. This is the perfect game to explain my non yet born grandsons, dogs and guest from Mars how the quarantine time was. Why? I will tell you, my dear testosteron corsair. 1- First, whasing hands in the game is extremelly similar to when I used to do it while I was lonely and drunk while quarantine time, back to good memories, thanks. 2- The super market hostile atmosphere, DUDE, I lived that, people looked at me like if I was a mutant budist zombie ninja if I coughed. 3- Toilet paper crisis. Was your primate instinct turned on when you saw that mountain? If you already have the game you know what I am talking about, hard feelings mate (no regrets). 4- Its is hard to masterize. If you play alone maybe you get bored, but if your friends also buy it, the competitor that you have inside will raise to be the greatest survivor of your party (we are having a ton of laughts, I am the best one, oc). 5- It is JUST 2€! Wtf is less than a beer in a bar! It bringed to me more laughts and less urge to pee, worthit.
Very silly/stupid physics and the hand washing game is the best part of the whole game. The shopping/super market part is hilariously bad and about as stressful as real life! :P As someone that is Shielding because of a health condition/the almost certainty that Covid will kill me if I get it.. even I have to see the humour in this part of our lives and considering the game does not include the actual effects of the Virus/is not a plague simulator etc it is in all honesty..very tame.
