The core gameplay is basically Terraria if the devs had a clearer goal and streamlined the design, instead of throwing random fun toys over the years. Which is not necessarily better mind you, but you do get the random loot drops and nice QoLs without randomly flying into the sky and finding a sword that outclasses everything you can craft early game. Weapon variety is very flaky. Each class has +- 3 variants and a bunch of reskins with different stats. Meelee? Daggers hit hard and narrow, swords have a bigger hitbox, axes are slow. Mage? So far i've only seen staffs that shoot a projectile, nearly indistinguishable from range weapons aside from consuming mana (while ranged weapons don't consume anything) Ranged? They all do the exact same thing. Some have an option between charging a split triple shot or a piercing shot, both of which are pretty useless 90% of the time. Grenades (which are their own damage type) are a bit more fun merely because they explode and some cause status effects. But they are expensive and meant to be used sparingly. Atmosphere-wise the game is simply amazing. It looks really well graphically, the music fits well, the enemy designs are cool. Altho the apparent plot is pretty much non-existant. The core speaks to you maybe 3-4 times in an entire playtrough, and just to tell you how to progress. Other than that there's nothing that makes the intro cinematic matter, and the only other dialog you'll see is your character saying "i need more mining damage to break this". The main issue is progression. After killing certain bosses, the world expands and... you get to go kill more bosses. Which you first have to find in an even larger and harder part of the world. So you're constantly just plowing trough areas of infinitely spawning enemies (which you can't just ignore btw, they hit hard and many are pretty good at keeping up with you.) hoping you find the next boss or at least the new biome you can farm for materials to craft an item that lets you find the boss. This cycle gets old by the time you reach the second area of the world, if not earlier. The automation stuff is kinda fun, but you unlock the useful stuff in the late game and it doesn't do anything major. It just cuts back on chores. It is a solid, pretty and fun game. Maybe not enough to finish it, but even just the first area of the world is packed with content. It has good multiplayer so i am sure it is more fun with friends.
ITS A GOOD GAME BUT IT JUST FRUSTING ABOUT THE MERCHANTS THAT U HAVE TOO BUILD A CERTAIN SIZE ROOM FOR THEM TO SPAWN IN YOUR BASE I DONT GOT TIME FOR ALL THAT, ITS KIND OF A BUZZ KILL I GOT ALL THE IDOLS AND ONLY ONE MERCHANT I JUST SAID ♥♥♥♥ IT AND GAVE UP, LIKE I SAID THE GAME IS FUN BUT THE MERCHANT PART IS A BUZ KILL
nice!!
A cool exploration adventure game with a theme similar to Terraria and a UI familiar to Stardew Valley fans. Tons to do, lots to explore and some damn fine anti-frustration features for those who like to play casually. (I love you, Casual Mode~) For the creative AuDHD crowd, it scratches the brain itch reeeeally good.
