Coraroc

Coraroc is a tough as nails retro platformer that has the simplicity and challenge of old-school platformers that I think a lot of modern indie platformers are lacking - especially those that "try" to be retro. Every level is simple - get to the finish, and if you can, collect all the coins, and smash the secret enemy radar. It's got a unique visual style and a catchy soundtrack, that at $5 regular is honestly a steal. If you're an advanced platformer gamer, this might be an evening/afternoon - and if not, then this'll be the game you go back to to brush up your platformer chops, get frustrated, and put it down again. And that's how old NES and SNES platformers would feel - and Coraroc captures that perfectly - without the frustration of having to beat it in one sitting. Perfect game for anyone itching for a retro, challenging platformer adventure.

Game is tough as hell, but the music keeps me going through it. It's fun!

Simple yet deceptively challenging platformer with impeccable vibes and excellent music. You really can't go wrong for the price if you want some classic platforming action.

This is instantly endearing with the pixel graphics and well-tuned retro platforming. it's fun and satisfying to free your buddies at the end of every level. The music is amazing and the levels on hard mode are a lot harder, fun variations. The secrets are well placed and fun to find - it's gonna take me a while to find em all.

Incredibly fun and fast paced platformer that doesn't overstay its welcome. The soundtrack alone is worth the price of admission, it's one that would make Ocean games on the SNES blush. However that's not all that it's got going for it, every level is designed to ease you into the true descent into madness that this game presents to you with tricky platforming and combat challenges. Incredibly fun and look forward to more games from the dev.

A fun, bite sized platformer you can complete in about an hour. Has collectable elements a la Yoshi's Island, so if you're a completionist it'll probably take about double that time (it did for me, at least). Of course with most collection based platformer games the true challenge comes from getting everything in a level, and at times it can be tough (there's a stage about halfway through that caused the majority of my deaths, as for why I'll keep a secret.) but nothing too overwhelming. Just remember that every level has twenty coins and one singing creature to destroy and eventually you'll figure it out. If even that isn't enough there are hard mode versions of the levels and a time attack mode. So Coraroc has more to chew on than meets the eye. Eye is a palindrome.

A delightful return to childhood. Well crafted and fun to play, Coraroc delivers exactly what it promises to while wrapping everything up in charming art and music. If it catches your eye it is well worth the buy!

i was told in a vision to buy this game. I am delighted to say that this is the best palindrome-themed retro platformer on the market. but the ost is truly exemplary, the map select music put me into a trance. i fell through the corridors of time into a vast sea of pure light, then i re-emerged in physical space with a deep sense of clarity and purpose. if you play this game you are sure to have blessed and fortunate times.

Tight platforming, and the soundtrack is INCREDIBLE why isn't it on Bandcamp yet.
