played it as a kid nostalgic and fun game
Talking about Constructor is like talking about the history of one of the most popular titles in the history of the "city-building" genre. It was one of the first games of the genre to combine the classic "invest and produce resources" dynamic with a more strategic and managerial aspect, focused on building and managing your own neighborhood. Each chosen "tenant" will have their own preferences in terms of building to live in, outdoor furniture, and decorations. But that's not all. It will be possible to develop the neighborhood with thugs, criminals, maniacs, and all sorts of extravagances. This "Plus" edition has solved most of the problems of the classic game (aside from much more attractive and updated graphics) and features a long list of "missions" to keep you busy, in addition to the classic modes provided by the original game. It also features a "design" mode that allows you to create your own maps. In my opinion, Constructor remains one of the best titles of the genre, not only for its gameplay, but also thanks to its extraordinary ability to photograph society for what it is, with its social classes, drawing heavily from the most disparate urban legends, and restoring a touch of comedy to a genre that today more than ever desperately needs it.
So this is another I wish I had a 'maybe' for. I like construction style games, but didn't realize how much of a 'versus' this game has built into the gameplay. I've only got 1 and a half of the tutorial missions under my belt as of writing this, and some of the first mission and all of the second mission has been about building 'undesirables' and using them to hinder my competition. I will admit, I am pretty sure I just grabbed this game on sale as 'oooh, cheap construction game' so I failed in my responsibility to check out the game page where I could have figured out what the core of this game was all about. In any event, I'll have to wait until I am in a different mindset to try this game further, I was looking for a 'fulfill build orders and/or start with low resources and turn it into high resources via cleverly building things'. I wasn't looking for a 'your competition will be on the map with you and actively sabotaging your lots, and you'll want to sabotage theirs to stay even' kinda game. Way more micro intensive gameplay with the sabotage system being what it is, which isn't bad, just not what I'm looking for at this time. Plus, I had issues following the directions in the second mission, I'm going to try and restart it and see if it is just me being dumb or what, but sending a hippie to talk to the other hippie and then beat him up with my work team isn't happening for some reason. I've got the work team there, and have tried targeting the hippie once he's outside, but nada. The building was burning pretty nicely when I quit last night, and I wasn't able to get the hippie to come outside again, so I definitely messed something up.
Bom para relembrar minha infancia. Constructor CD Expert kkkk jogo muito engraçado vale demais.
One of my favourite games from the late 90s, HD'd up, glad they kept the original voice over for the characters. Simplistic but fiercely hard at late game. Love it!
classic game, I prefer the old character designs but this has many quality of life improvements and extra content the original didn't have.
I can recommend this game. It has a great sense of humor.
Love this game, so happy they updated it as I played it when it first launched.
