Worst controls scheme ever devised by a game studio. I can't play this game, it's just too fast and dragging actions on the screen is completely moronic and too slow. You can't plan anything ahead, every single action against you always happens by surprise and you are never made aware of anything until it's been happening for more than half a minute. You can't do anything on a paused game, making the feature absolutely useless. If it's an RTS game why the heck would you bother pausing anyway??? The UI needs to be re-thought from ground up, it does the exact opposite of helping and this is precisely why I will never recommend this game.
Flicking and physics feel bouncy and unpredictable - in another game setting it could be fun, here it's just frustration. Skill unlocks and upgrades are forcibly tied to winning multiplayer matches, meaning large swathes of upper end content for factions are locked behind MP only walls. Nope. Nope nope nope. Play almost any other RTs instead.
Rarely does a game combine geniune innovation with such whimsy, cleverness and style. It is both bonkers and brilliant, as entertaining as it is unique. People who love to explore genre smashup are in for a treat. RTS and flicking seems counter-intuitive but Conflicks pulls it off brilliantly. The game is polished to perfection and slickly presented. Despite the absurdity of the setting, it actually offers compelling strategy and tactics. There are lots of diverse units and terrain with truly unique powers. Most games tread down all too familiar paths. Conflicks boldly blazes a trail into uncharted territory. The result is a smashing success, not is sales numbers, but is pure game design brilliance, excellence and innovation.
所以这原来是一个打桌球的游戏?
This is of a wacky game that I just didn't get the humor of gameplay wise it also just isn't my type of game i think.
Tl;dr: A VERY niche game that won't appeal to many people, but is suprisingly good in it's execution and what it sets out to do. I've only played the first level of the campaign, but had to write a review to say... that was one of the best intros I've seen in a while. Love the art style, and while this gave me the first impression of "random nonsense humor" which I generally don't go for (since, you know, I'm over 13), this felt thought out enough to go from that first impression to just plain ridiculous surrealism (and awesome) after about 15 seconds. I was not expecting to go into this game and have it transform me into a kid blown away by a badass saturday morning cartoon. I would totally watch the s**t out of that show, and it left me wanting to play it just to find out more about the different factions and characters. Gameplay is odd, for sure. It definitely feels and plays like a flicking game (which is a thing, I guess?), and should be treated as such first and foremost. If you suck at flicking things, you're probably going to hate this game. Aiming isn't too rough though, as you have a ring around your ship when you flick it showing how far your ship will go. The main difficulty comes from the pressure of managing multiple ships in a real time environment. In my hasty flicking, one of my first moves was destroying my entire fleet by flicking it too close to a planet, sucking it into the atmosphere (I still came back and won though, they take it pretty easy on you on the first level). I can see this game getting difficult quickly as you progress. The odd inclusion of RTS seems to work well and adds a suprising amount of depth for a mechanic that you wouldn't think you could shove depth into, but already from the start on top of the basic expected units there's stealth ships with cloaking and torpedos, and freighters that can carry other ships via tractor beams allowing you to move large fleets over long distances. I'm sure there will be more ships with different abilities as the game progresses. All in all, it's a very weird, niche game that's a combination of two niche genres. The gameplay is all about the flicking and that's the main appeal, so if you came to this game mostly for the RTS aspect you'll probably be disappointed. The atmosphere and depth just scream RTS though, with the story and even the menus reminding me more of RTSes than a casual flicking game, so it's not really for the casual gamer either. It's a combination that is not going to appeal to very many people (myself included, honestly. Two genres [is flicking a genre?] I don't really care much about.), but it is well done in it's execution. There is enough here for there to be a good chance for me to actually play this again, though it will probably just taunt me from within my massive backlog.
CONTROOLS are pretty bad and i usualy love rts but this one is just bad
seems to be a nice strategy game, but its not my thing. still recommended if you like these types of games
This is an under-rated gem. The solo story is set in an absurd universe but is itself quite serious. I think it makes good use of it's unique mechanics, with each faction having a differing set of gimics. I'm happy to call it one of my favorite RTS games. multiplayer is pretty much not there though.
Don't listen to the guys who say "muh these mechanics should be on a turn-based game not a real time strategy game", they don't know how to flick and cry about it. This is a fun game, with good and interesting mechanics, unfortunately there's almost no multiplayer game :( Because of the last point, I recommend buy it on sale, but only if you want enjoy the campaign and skirmshers vs AIs.
