[i]Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty[/i] was an interesting real-time strategy WWII game for its time, which was 27 years ago at the time of this review being written, but now it is quite dated and unsuitable for modern audiences, irrespective of the miracle of it working on Windows 11; the tutorial, by default, comes broken and separate from the base game, meaning that players unfamiliar with the first game, [i]Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines[/i], will have to get used to controls and mechanics through trial and error, even with the low-quality manual PDF. This product is more like a DLC for Behind Enemy Lines, as players are once again tasked with defeating the National Socialist German Workers' Party, who surrendered in the first game, through guerrilla tactics, micromanagement of a small group of commandos, and shift-clicking hundreds of enemies to see their line of sight. Given the existence of better thematic strategy games, this video game is best left collecting dust rather than purchased and played.
