color cube is a simple isometric cube-rolling puzzler, and as such, controls are very important to implement well. in some games (including this by default) pressing right means going up-right, in others (the ones doing it properly) down-right, and ideally both alternatives are offered with a simple 90-degree toggle, or in this case, rebindable controls. mouse also works everywhere and on-screen arrows can be clicked for movement as well. the cube has colored sides that need to be applied to certain tiles. once colored, they can still be undone with the opposite side, so gotta be careful. later on, multiple cubes come into play, each piece rolling separately. those levels are closer to a 'move everything at once' situation, without the ability to re-arrange the configuration of the cubes. 27 levels unlocked one by one, no move limit or rating system, but the number of moves gets saved (but not shown while playing, an oversight) and there are online leaderboards if competing with strangers is your thing. since it's a move-based game, unlimited undo is important, and luckily it got patched in almost immediately. backspace, left ctrl, or whatever you set it to, but no undo with the mouse and no button for it on the ui either. if you're not in a competitive mood though, undo won't really be necessary. separate audio toggles and volume settings to complement the okay audio, plus windowed mode, resolutions and vsync. the ui, both in the menu and while playing, is ugly as hell, but it works fine, which is more than some games can claim. there's not a lot of content and it's not overly challenging and can be finished in less than an hour, but that's probably the point. different cube layouts provide enough variety for a short and basic game like this and the presence of necessary functionality means the developer is worth supporting.

Short puzzle marking game. You see it, or you don't. Your cube has a marker and an eraser side. You have to mark every tile of the platform. For certain thoughtpatterns this is very easy. For some it's harder. Worth a playthrough if you own it. 55/100

[i]More reviews at Omnivore Gamer, games that are easy to control (for handicapped gamers). Très bon jeu. passe le temps, très bon pour chasser l'ennuie, Je recommande sans hésitation.
Not bad. Idea is to rotate a cube around a grid and change color underneath depending on which side of the cube lands on the spot. Aim is to paint the whole grid with the color the particular level requires and that's it. Sounds annoying and it probably would be if the moves were counted but you can actually do as many moves as you need. As a result the game is actually for once quite relaxing while giving you something to think about compared to some other puzzlers that are anything but relaxing once you get to higher levels. Short game. 1 hour effective game play probably to beat it but quite worth a buck.
Done in less than 90 minutes. I want to be the first who post here a review about this little project - a decent isometric puzzle game with an interesting gameplay which reminds me another game - Theorem. It worth its price - less than one buck, but I noticed some lack of experience from its developer. It could be more polished with another aesthetic and more levels. Anisotropic renderer is too low (or not enabled) and it affects the final render. There is no button so as to go back if you do something wrong. GUI, materials, colors and font are too common without any good taste. However mechanic works well as expected. Sometimes it seems to me that this project is not finished - something more or less similar with a pre-release game. But there is a really good idea - a leaderboard on-line. This way you can rival against other players trying to solve levels using the lower number of steps. This feature changes totally the main gameplay and this little game becomes more addictive. A good stuff ++
cool game
Color Cube is another free game from Nannings! Oh wait, it's not, once more Nannings are trying to scam PC gamers on Steam into paying money for a free game. Unethical? Absolutely. Not that anyone would want to buy this... it's a garbage mobile app like Unity puzzle game where you just roll a cube around. About the same level of depth as Sokoban, the free Flash game, but less satisfying and very scammy, minimum viable product cash grab stuff. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features lazy low-polygon untextured "retro" assets, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the 1990s. It's unclear why the developers weren't able to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets for the game, and also irrelevant... what matters is that this looks bad as a result of their decisions, a compromise PC gamers shouldn't have to put up with. This looks and feels like a mobile app, but I wasn't able to find it on the app stores. Maybe it was removed, maybe it was rejected by Apple and Google (they do have more rigorous quality standards than Valve does for Steam, after all). Regardless, for all intents and purposes "Color Cube" might as well be a mobile app, it has the same limitations and dumbed down qualities. It's impossible to recommend such a game to PC gamers. We don't spend all this money building gaming rigs so we can pretend they're iPhones and play games that might as well be mobile apps. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected in the general public reception. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. That's right, only 2. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in the game is to be expected. Gamers just didn't take this low quality game seriously, and for good reason. Unethically, the developers are trying to charge money on Steam for a game that they give away for free in a web browser. This is a deliberate attempt to gouge Steam gamers for a free product, and shows particular scorn and disrespect for Steam gamers for this lousy browser game. To double down on this unethical attempt to dupe gamers into paying for something available for free, they also dumped this into cheap nasty game bundles as a further cash grab/scam attempt, misleading both gamers and the bundle sellers. Just who do they think we are?
Short, but has some interesting puzzles!
