Unfortunately, the game doesn't have enough polish to be fun imo. Graphics and UX are a hard to understand, only four xbox controllers work at the same time (most likely because the game falls back to XInput instead of DINput for those) and I don't like the sound design at all. It's the little things like apprupt victory screens that don't have a direct rematch option, basic samey looking game elements and the sounds of all actions that just don't quite fit together. I can't recommend it for your next couch coop session

I bought this [i]specially[/i] for 5-8 player shared-screen gaming. (Want the TL;DR version? Skip to the bottom paragraph) The game's info says it [i]supports 8 players same PC[/i] and says it has [i]full controller support[/i] This is not accurate! If there is any one controller above all for a shared-screen multiplayer game to support, it's the Xbox One controller with the wireless adaptor. This is the latest gamepad made by the same company as the operating system for guaranteed compatibility. It's the easiest and most reliable way of having 8 wireless controllers to a PC. After all, who wants to play with [i]8 wired[/i] controllers?! Yet the game [I]only supports [b]4[/b] of 8 Xbox One controllers![/I] It's [i]not[/i] a hardware issue on my end: Knight Squad, the 8-player standalone Tower Ascension, and other 8 player games [i]work just fine with the same setup.[/i] So the developer stating it supports 8 players [i]combined[/i] with them stating it has full controller support: well, that's false advertising. So: The developers... 1) ...are negligent in their testing and never found this easy-to-detect bug. OR 2) ...found the bug, but are too apathetic to fix it. OR 3) ...lack the competency to fix it. Not cool. My rating is [b]not recommended[/b]. For many people this game is effectively only a 4-player game. And there are [i]plenty[/i] of better [i]4[/i]-player same-screen games out there. Several other 5-8 player games out there exist that have developers that [i]care enough to get 8 Xbox One controllers (8 device Xinput) support working. I say go with them instead.[/i] TL;DR version: This game lacks support for more than 4 Xbox One controllers despite the developer's claim that it supports 8 players with full controller support. Not recommended.
