About
Coldwake is a text-driven mystery set in the icy aftermath of a global collapse. Armed with nothing but an old terminal and your curiosity, you’ll dig through corrupted logs, hidden directories, and fragmented memories buried in a forgotten facility. Every command you type is a key—one that might unlock a lost file, a piece of a shattered mind, or a chilling secret about what really happened beneath the snow.
Coldwake is heavily based on reading. The story unfolds entirely through written logs, system messages, journal entries, and memory fragments. You won’t just read the story—you’ll reconstruct it.
Your main tool is the terminal.
Type commands to uncover files and unlock hidden content.
Navigate a retro-futuristic OS. Every file tells a piece of the story. Some lie. Some beg to be found.
Investigate logs, system errors, and encrypted messages to piece together what happened.
Solve narrative puzzles by noticing details, keywords, and terminal responses.
Recover the fragments of a lost consciousness scattered across a dying system.
Coldwake blends interactive fiction, emotional sci-fi, and immersive investigation. It’s quiet, nonlinear, and rewards players who read carefully, think deeply, and follow the threads others might miss.

Really interesting game where you work to uncover what happened to a post-apocalyptic world through a series of terminal logs and use of keywords to unlock new information, with a few cipher puzzles to boot. Certainly worth the price of admission imo since the game is only a few hours long, though I almost wish there was more to it even if the price tag went up - there's amazing bones here and I really enjoyed myself, but I almost feel as though the story capped off right when it was getting good and I found myself craving more. However, I was fully invested by the end and thought it was a solid, impactful conclusion to the story the devs wanted to tell. Recommend if you like text-driven games and want a fun way to spend a few hours =))
This is a very interesting text-based game. It has a cool story and depending on what you find or think to ask, it can be told in a variety of orders. It's mostly intuitive, with a few things being harder to pin down the word for than others, but overall it's a solid game, particularly for this price.
10/10 Compelling Plot & Intuitive Puzzle Structure. Please play. It's very cool and also the ending is incredibly sweet and now I'm in tears. I'm not going to spoil anything else, especially since I finished it in 1.2 hours/one session. I'm looking forward to seeing if they have any other games by this dev or if they'll make any more.
An interesting if sometimes difficult puzzle game with a very good story behind it. Pick it up if you don't mind having to put it down to think for a while in-between discoveries. Overall a beautiful story that left me in tears.
Short and poignant. It took me around 2.5 hours including the time I spent on the demo.
