When I was starting to learn C# I looked up various ways to practice and learn. This game was definitely one of the most creative ways to learn. Worth checking out if you're interested in learning C#.
The story was fun and kept my interest, the coding problems were challenging enough and the artwork and soundtrack were great. I really enjoyed this game. The only possible problem is that it was not long enough, I finished in 6 hours. I definitely give this a 5 by 5 and I'm keeping watch for more games from prettysmart.
Urocza historia i przyjemnie podane zagadki.

Rough and simple but full of heart and soul! Love it! Worth any penny!
I was attracted by the art work and ended up learning some programming! Really surprised myself. The story gets you absorbing some C++ programming very painlessly and before you know it, figuring out secret door codes and other useful stuff. Game ended suddenly so I really hope there is a part 2 because there are unfinished missions to undertake. Hurry up please devs!
Great music, great art, great story, and great characters! And also a great method to teach C#! After just a few hours I was already excited about how this game would be perfect to teach begginers or to do revision with advanced students. I could write a really long review praising this game, but since most people wouldn't read it you'll have to trust my summary of "great everything" and check it for yourself :3
Great innovative game! Full disclaimer: I program professionally. So I personally found the programming sections too easy and I was able to breeze through a lot of the game (finishing in just under 5 hours). But I was impressed how it covered not just syntax, but common computer science topics, such as data structures. I'd easily recommend this to anyone learning to code. In addition to the coding exercises, there are logic puzzles/riddles presented throughout the story which was fun! I really enjoyed the universe, but I'll confess I did have a little trouble getting hooked on the story. So mileage there will vary... Very much looking forward to any sequels!
this game covers the basic to intermediate things someone needs to know for C#, the story is well paced, the characters are enjoyable, specially trey, it had very dramatic and deep moments that makes you feel conected to the characters, the puzzles are a bit easy except for a few, but overall it was a great experiencie, it feels a bit short, but that demonstrate how inmerse you get on the story, by the time you finish the game you really want more. it can feel a little slow if you know C#, but the story compensates that, so if you are beginer or expert on C# and enjoy this type of games, this is a must
Short version: If you want either a nice introduction to programming and computer science, or are interested in a cute romance, in a slightly dark background world, this game might be for you. If your looking for a challenging programming puzzler, and don't care about a story, this might not be the game for you. I don't write many reviews, but this game surprised me. I'm an avid programming, logic, and puzzle gamer. I love Zach-likes, and games that have open ended puzzle solutions to optimize. Code Romantic isn't that. I don't remember how I got it, possibly a bundle, or one of my several mass purchases of games in the "programming" category on steam. If I'd have known, or noticed, how beginner oriented this game is, I probably would have passed on it. I'm glad I didn't. This game shouldn't be for me. I should have been bored by it. I have a BS in Computer Science, and this game is a very good introduction, but it should have been too simple for me to enjoy. But I loved it. Maybe I'm just a romantic at heart, but the story and art was super cute and I got really invested in it. The world building and backstories are great, too, when you uncover them. The multiple choice style coding puzzle interface is a great idea, I think it could be useful for actual computer science exams. It allows a person to demonstrate they understand the concepts and language notation without having to memorize every little thing about it. Real world programmers aren't memorizing api functions and use documentation constantly, as well as editors that show issues in syntax as you type. Having a multiple choice interface for coding questions just makes sense. On the steam discussions the dev has said that Code Romantic II is in the works, and I'm looking forward to it. I want to know what's going to happen next, and I'm hoping that the challenge increases as well.
