Cleaning Up The Puzzle Gallery

Great game to slow down and relax. You get skill points every couple completed puzzles(doesn't get harder to get points as you progress!) and the completed puzzle sound is pretty satisfying:D

[h1]TLDR[/h1] A game with great potential but some baffling QoL/accessibility snafus that annoyed me to no end. [h1]Summary[/h1] This game is right up my alley. The paintings by famous painters make for more interesting sorting than generic objects. Unfortunately, all the QoL issues make me think the developer released this in a rush to beat the competition and didn't actually have the game playtested. I finished a single playthrough in a little under 3 hours (earning me an achievement). When you play for speed, the game is unfortunately not as much fun because you "miss" thinking for yourself and can just rely on your power-ups. This is why I'm planning to do a run without using any power-ups, where I need to determine which painter and painting the puzzle pieces belong to one by one. I hope the developer will make some QoL improvement. [h1]Pros[/h1] [list] [*]Having you solve actual puzzles rather than just putting some items on a shelf is original for this genre. [*]The gameplay loop of looking at puzzle pieces and trying to "guess" the painter is great. After playing this, I now recognize some paintings and the painter's style. [*]I think there is a way to add your own photos (like those of your girlfriend, your children, your dog, your car, etc.), which is a great idea! I haven't looked into this myself yet, but I REALLY hope it will be possible to share and download other people's galleries. Maybe a collection of cars, or famous landmarks, etc. This feature could make this game stand out miles above the competition. [/list] [h1]Meh[/h1] [list] [*]Puzzle pieces randomly start face up or down. When you pick up a piece and drop it again, it sometimes drops upside down, forcing you to pick it up and drop it yet again until it is face up. [*]The distribution of the puzzle pieces is not random. A lot of the pieces are in front of their correct canvas. This kinda makes sense considering there supposedly was an earthquake. But why put a bunch in front of the canvas and some others at the opposite end of the gallery? I personally would strongly prefer the pieces to be truly randomly spread at the start of a game. [*]I wish there were more paintings. [/list] [h1]Cons[/h1] [list] [*]The worst QoL offender is that the power-ups don't have descriptive names, forcing you to remember the hotkeys. Instead of calling power-ups "call pieces to your hand" or "highlight the right painting," etc., there are names like "parietal lobe." Really?! [*]The puzzle pieces are highlighted white, yellow, blue, green, or red. This is totally useless. Just mark them as green or red for clarity. [*]Time is annoyingly not written in a normal way like 1:23:45, but as 123:45. [*]The book with paintings opens to pages with two paintings, but doesn't highlight which painting you are looking at (it could be either of the two). Why not highlight the painting you're looking at? [*]I encountered poles that were in the way of the piece of paper telling you what painting you are looking at. The combination with the previous con this makes this worse . [/list]

I had a blast playing the librarian game and decided to find similar games. this one popped up and i find it just as fun. The classical music is great and got to see art I hadnt really looked at in years since art history class. Just finished my first playthrough and looking forward to trying it e asecond time with no help or might go for trying to finish within 3 hours.

Ogólnie bawiłem się dobrze. Jednak na początku bardzooo mnie irytowało to, że podświetlane puzzle są lewo widoczne... zastanawia mnie też fakt jak to jest z prawami autoryskimi do tych obrazów. W teorii są wykorzystywane w grze i chyba trzeba by było mieć takie prawa? PRAWDA?

I actually really loved this game. I've been on an organizing game kick and this one hit all the marks. It was relaxing but challenging at the same time. I played without using the notebook you get to challenge myself even further to see what art pieces I remember. It made it super fun, especially when I could look at a piece and try to determine what artist made it based on the medium, brush strokes, style, etc. It was so much fun to do and I hope they make another level with more artists! ( Some fun suggestions: John William Waterhouse, Frederic William Burton, Frida Kahlo, Jackson Pollock, Edward Hopper, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Henri Matisse)
