I'm not exaggerating in the slightest when I say this is literally the worst FPS game I have ever played in my life. It's actually offensive that this came out after DOOM. I would rather play Chex Quest or Wolf3D than ever touch this again.
Between this Marathon and new marathon, classic marathon is 10000000X better
You can't help but compare FPS games of the era to Doom and, when comparing Marathon to Doom, this falls quite short. The levels are short but also somehow slow and drug out. Combat is also pretty slow and very dull; the guns are inaccurate and fairly underpowered, and have pitiful sound effects. In fact, sound is all around pretty dull. The music is terrible, there's little feedback from the environment, level secrets are either insanely well hidden or just non-existent, the enemies are really uninspired, and if you don't want to stop and read every computer terminal page, then there's absolutely no story-driven motivation. I played several hours of this some years back before it came to Steam and was unimpressed, and now that it's on Steam I still feel the same way. It's slow, boring, and uninteresting.

I hated it, i know its a classic but i really dislike this game. boring
this game deadnamed me
I played the original back in the day. made my own maps and had a blast with it. fun game! I think the Devs for Aleph One could resell this as a VR game for the Quest 3. but not being a programmer myself, I'm not sure what that would entail.
As a Zoomer, Marathon is pretty cool.
It made me super motion sick. If there's anything I can do about that, plz comment or dm me.
masterpiece. 2 is pretty good as well, but this is by far the best of the trilogy. the atmosphere is unmatched. aleph one did an amazing job enhancing this game.
Classic. Options to adjust to your liking as well that actually work.
