I love the game, I think it's good just that it has this STUPID BUG THAT MAKES IT BARELY PALYABLE. It makes it so that I skip one block both ways so it's way more harder to chain and connect. The only reason I know it shouldn't do that is by looking at other people playing it and it started by me changing my key binds. So please fix this bug so I can have more fun. Also this is the only reason why I'm giving this a thumbs down
This game is essentially a finger fat remover exercise with Class of '09 characters shoved into it. Either way, I did actually find myself enjoying slop like this and that's because of the fact the overall gameplay is fun to play alongside the surprisingly good stage music. Of course, I have to talk about the elephant in the room which is that this is a very odd game and it reminds me of those Sonic spin-off titles like Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine or Sonic Spinball. At-least Flipside sorta felt like a successor to the previous canon, this feels like a non-canon TV show or film that no-one liked. Except I like this game, even if it butchers the narrative and character quality. I also really admired the Puzzler as a character and his monologue at the end. Also also, I'm dog at the later Kelly stages so I'm tempted to do what Nicole did in the first game... "...Books, puzzles, and pawns..". If 'books' referred to the visual novels, and 'puzzles' referred to this game, then I suppose 'pawns' refers to what I think the next game will be: Class of '09: Chess Showdown!
I really liked the Kelly story line it was more fun then the actual campaign. Maybe if they allowed us to make choices in the main story it would have been better.
I dont like it at all. i played all the parts before but just 20 mins of gameplay were so boring that i couldnt bring myself to keep the game. the price should be max. 10 euros
This is better than The Flip Side imo. The puzzles are engaging and get quite difficult. I'm just now getting into Weekend at Kelly's and it's much closer to a VN feel with some puzzles between decision paths. My main critique is that the voice lines in the puzzles themselves get quite repetitive unless you get long combo chains; those are pretty damn funny. It's a bit pricy at $20 but I'm okay with supporting the series.
My opinion on Class of 09 puzzle showdown is that the game does still have some of the charm the original trilogy had but in the form of a puzzle game which is a GREAT concept on paper. Unfortunately putting it into execution was the issue because of one simple thing. Difficulty! If you are someone who is plays games very casually this is NOT the game for you, but people like myself who love challenge in their games and try to go for 100%'ing games then I'd recommend it. I do think this game is better than Flipside but not by much. I give it a 7/10 mostly because of the Weekend at Kelly's sidemode. It's the ONLY part of the game that has different endings based on your choices which I did like and the 2 ending I got (so far) have been well done and out of any character I wouldn't have expected Kelly to have any good routes. TLDR: If you are looking for a casual puzzle game then I don't recommend, but if you enjoy the challenge then I definitely support it!.
idk if im slow or what but this game is hard af. the bug where you move 2 blocks instead of one kinda pissed me off to cuz idk how to fix it
someone said they wanted mixed reviews on this game so im leaving it here. but actually buy literally anything else instead of this game, we were all waiting for storylines after highschool and all we got was maybe 8 endings that are all exclusively about kelly and each is locked behind 4 hours of boring puzzle gameplay?? and everything else barely has any plot or lore to it, the main campaign is literally the same jokes we've already heard in vns and 10 second cutscene at the end. i don't even hope that something saves this franchise atp
