What a game man, full of soul and great visual and character designs, and that soundtrack tickles the ear in just the right ways. Had me hooked from start to finish, loved the fighting and upgrading mechanics, the world is intertwined and interconnected which at first was confusing, but once you understand how to read the map, becomes enjoyable to traverse. The characters of Pseudo and The Boy are such an endearing duo and you slowly come to love their banter and adventures together. Not on the level of Darksouls, let's be honest nothing is, but an enjoyable ride that won't disappoint. Highly recommended if you like chill souls-likes.
Incredible game! Can't believe I only paid $3 for this, feels like I stole it.
Probably good if given a propper chance, but 15 min was enough for me to find out that I dont want to play this with an xbox controller...
👍
perfect game if you want to beat the living ♥♥♥♥ out of your opps (or die trying)
Just completed my overly-thorough first playthrough (21 hours for 100% completion). Loved it! Art style is incredible. I love the general vibes and creativity on display. Story is solid. Most impressively... I've played about 50 soulslikes, and the level design in this game is up there with the best. Especially the western area, with the swamps and beaches. Mind-blowing stuff. Combat is fun overall, but can be annoying at times - especially against multiple enemies, since they love to bunch up, making it very hard to deal damage without taking some from another enemy. I also think sticking with the Boxing style for too long made it harder than it had to be... Spear is a breeze by comparison. I don't like that I felt forced into a pretty cheesy style to win fights. Enemy attacks weren't telegraphed enough to parry or dodge consistently enough to play it like a Soulslike. Ended up just spamming attacks and stunlocking enemies, then backing away to heal. The dice-battling minigame started off slow, but once I got several 'abilities' and more dice to throw, it became very very interesting. I'd love to buy a real-life version.
Very beautiful, soundtrack was very melodic and was stuck in my head through out the day. Combat takes some time to get warmed up to, but feels enjoyable. Some minor bugs (i fell out the map once, some interactive climbs were finicky) unique story that captivated me. Added NG+ - thank you, gonna go for 100%
.
i really liked the game bro
