Reviews
I really didn’t like this game. I bought it and forced myself to keep playing mostly because of all the hype surrounding it. The music is great and the direction is interesting, which is appealing at first, but after that you’re left with some of the dullest and dumbest gameplay I’ve experienced in a long time, with endless enemies where all you really do is parry and dodge. Exploring the world isn’t interesting, and I had absolutely no desire to get invested in the game. One of the worst games I’ve played in the past few years.

Of the 4 markets with a position on both sides, 4 climbed and 0 fell. The same sale, the same day, opposite directions — which is why nothing here is averaged into a single arrow, and why one sale is not a trend.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

good game
My prior experience to this work of art is primarily hundreds of hours in Final Fantasy 1-15 and its variants. Keep that lens of perspective in mind for this review. Also this is my first review. Thanks GOTY, lives up to it. Graphic style is unique to what I'm used to, quite enjoy it overall though. Character growth and customization is limited, but more then sufficient to give you a variety of ways to play. Turn based combat, with timing heavily involved. If you like rhythm games this will suit your playstyle well- audio and / or visual queues are used. Now my absolute favorite aspects of this game are 1) THE MUSIC - over 100 original pieces composed, variety of styles and instrumentation, even when I'm not on the game I have this soundtrack running on repeat and 2) THE STORY LINE - not sure how they put this story together, but like many good stories it has a beginning and a middle. Character stories start to weave their way into your feels, NPCs start to grow on you like a little dog following you home. As you progress through the story your affinity and attachment to the characters change and evolve as things that were become not and things that were not just become. There are so many twists in this evolving story it kept me on the edge of my seat, longing to put aside any adult responsibilities for days at a time (don't worry, the kids still got fed and watered). Then there are different ending options to chose from, and NewGame+ options to continue playing after you thought you were finished. Strongly recommend to play through it without ANY online input the first time and just get enveloped in the story. There are MANY spoilers that just start popping up if you try to search anything. The game is challenging but by no means requires additional content or outsider info to complete on your own, even at a moderate skill level. Side notes: Moderate swearing or cursing does happen, a few rather revealing outfit options, and a few innuendos are made. There is much blood or violence as it is a story told in a matter of warfare. None of those aspects are main focal points nor do they detract from the game. Overall content is mostly appropriate for teen and older in my opinion
its perfect.

Отличная игра
Definitely the most overrated game of the decade, without a question. Unfortunately Steam doesn't have a 'neutral' review, but i definitely wouldn't go solely into the 'recommended' territory with this game. Upon completing the main story and some of the optional content, i can confidently say that the combat is absolute dogsh*t and i was on the verge of falling asleep, wishing the combat encounter would just end as fast as possible, and sometimes just avoiding combat entirely, especially when you have to fight the same 2 enemies 10 times in the row. But the worst part about the combat is most definitely the fact that despite how 'complex' it may seem, it's just the most generic parry slop. All that building your characters, weapons and finding the best pictos combinations does is make the combat last shorter, but it's a completely optional mechanic, you can just skip ALL OF THIS and just parry and you'll be fine. On the other hand, you're absolutely ♥♥♥♥♥♥ if you even dare to miss one parry (especially in act 3), which for someone playing on PC can be QUITE frustrating, considering that more times than not, your parries don't even get registered. Outside of combat, the gameplay 'loop' and exploration is extremely bland, you're just collecting the same 3 or 4 materials, which majority of them you won't even get to use. The story itself was actually very good and enjoyable, but by act 3, it started to fall off hard, and it's nice that you get to decide the fate of the characters at the end. As for the characters, they are all pretty likeable, which helps a lot in a story driven game. There's luckily not too much dialogue, which is common in modern games, and mainly, the dialogue isn't half bad. I also liked the hangout events with the characters, definitely helped in making the characters likeable. Overall, there's not much woke stuff in this game either, except for the very dysgenic NPCs (you will see a LOT of black people when walking around Lumière, which isn't exactly accurate to how France looked like BACK THEN) Probably the best part about the game is the music and visuals. Undeniably, the game is very pretty, and i most definitely agree that the music in this game is top notch. Despite all the positives, i wouldn't recommend this game to anyone solely for the terrible combat. If it was purely a story game without the AWFUL combat, then sure, it would be a much better game. But even then, it is most definitely not worth all the praise it got. And this is absolutely NOT an indie game, so the fact that it won both 'Best Independent Game' and 'Best Debut Indie Game' at TGA is very undeserved and also proves that Geoff Keighley is a sellout hag. If this is considered the best turn based RPG ever, then you all must have lost your mind, absolutely ridicilous that people call this 'one of the best games made EVER' 😭🙏 Definitely wouldn't buy this for full price, even the 18€ i spent feels like a waste. There's so many other better games(even some that came out in 2025), so there's no reason for this game to be glazed THIS hard. I think people forget that gameplay is the main element of videoGAMES.
