Amazing UI, great gameplay. It's somehow both super engaging but not heavy. The world is immersive and beautifully crafted but deceptively simple.
Queen Chrysalis approves of this game <3
This game is actually quite amazing, it has a lot of features and the likes (although I will say that the movement speed of the player needs to be adjusted.) This game would do great with mods adding in more species, just handle workshop integration and honestly this game would be fascinating.
Roguelike, Tower Defense, RTS, Creature Crafter; there's so many things that go into this game that just works so well together. Pacing could do some work, the first two levels are a cake walk, the third level is a challenge, and then the fifth to end feel like the difficulty got ramped up to 11. Sometimes you feel like you're not doing enough damage, only to get killed in 10 seconds due to enemies being incredibly numerous. I personally don't like the balance between the two currencies, Anima and Sylva. Anima is used to buy things and upgrade the player character and other units. Sylva is used in the defensive phase to plant the "towers". Anima is pretty limited and has way too many uses, however Sylva only has a few uses and you tend to get it in abundance. There's also a lot of ways to obtain it and the only real bottleneck is getting the spores to use it on. There are some performance issues, but I'm pretty sure it's just my hardware. This only occurs in the later levels in which a TON of enemies are spawned and a ton of the map is altered by the enemies mutating the map. If the developer is working on the game still, I do hope there is some kind of fix for this.
A very fun game with a relaxed and simple theme, the various improvement methods (Plants, levels, elements, fusions) make the game very interesting in the first few hours, but after learning everything, it becomes a little repetitive. The fusions (in my opinion the most fun part) are very interesting but apart from the frog, golem and spider runes it is very difficult to find strong animal fusions, of course having too much control would also make the game a little boring, but I wish there was an easier way to find rarer fusions, in addition to the fact that some fusions for some reason only remove certain abilities from some evolutions, in general a great game, which if updated and added more animals, would have enormous potential!
Lovely little game, has a really interesting mix of simple, straightforward gameplay that can be quite challenging.
Definitely enjoying the loop! This is a gem that is TONS of fun! Chrysalis has a very unique spin on the tower defense and roguelike genres alike! They fit super well together and creates an addictive balance to both!
this might be the perfect video game
Don't listen to the negative reviews, this is a hidden gem, doubly so considering its price. Are controls janky? A little. (Half the people giving bad reviews) Is it playing it intuitively easy? No. Git gud nerd. (The other half giving bad reviews) Is it fun? Absolutely! Can you get a bunch of rad monsters and swarm and create more rad monsters and make your own custom roaming death squad of nature animals? Oh yeah. Why tf are you still reading this? I want to like it but the runs are way too long and tedious, and you feel like you die to random ♥♥♥♥ when you die or lose a follower.
