My word is GREED,
Secret Word : GREED
I've played previous installments of this game and very interesting with the approach they're taking to game development, instead of a direct one it's a collection of psyological tests and branches which flow in life of almost everyone, and they still manage to make us understand how much life is beautiful and we are not alone in it. I love these games, they're basically what they say they are just tests but I doubt you'll find something like these games which will make you think so deeply about the questions you answer and they thought's you'll sit with once you're done with said Test(s) If that kind of introspective test interest's you this game is very much for you.
For me This game will remain one of the most interesting game's I've played
I got this whole series on sale today and I've spent the last few hours playing one through three. I want to say thank you, in a long, shambling way bc I'm high as hell rn. TW: talk about depression, suicide, and references to the content of the game I've always loved games that tell you about yourself (shout out to Refind Self), I've always been looking for... an answer? The Answer that would explain who I am, what I'm meant for, why I have to live this life. This past year, a lot has happened, and I started really coming to terms with the fact that this Answer I've been searching for my whole life doesn't exist. I was having a bad day, and bought these games out of old habit. At first, from the photos, I couldn't tell if it was a personality-test game or a creepy pixel rpg (it's neither, but much more the former than the latter), but either way it was up my alley and I really hoped it would maybe help me find a new way of looking at things, or at least creep me out enough to make me feel grateful that that's not the life I'm living. It did! There still isn't an Answer, or some grand cosmic thing that will tell me why I'm here, but that isn't what these games give you. What they gave me was a sense of peace with that in a way I haven't felt before. I want to talk about each game, forgive me for doing it in one comment on the third one. In the first game, and in the second to a slightly lesser extent, I wasn't sure what to make of the scattered secret codes and scare tactics. I'm still not quite sure what they added to the games, but I also haven't played back through to comb for stuff I missed (everything that wasn't pointed out to me), and I feel based on the end of the third game that that context may be provided in the RPG they hyped at the end, Chasing Demons. The result for this game really spoke to me, and gave me some reassurance that was relevant to current events in my life. I didn't feel like I was assigned a type, I felt like I got a message from someone who loves me. In the second game, I'm not sure if this was intentional, but I felt like I was playing a dating sim LMAO. The clash between the pixel graphics and then the drop-dead gorgeous face cards was crazy. I swearrrrr Fate was flirting with me, bro had me talking to my computer out loud. He was lowkey funny asf and I couldn't stop laughing, it made me feel so much more comfortable answering some of the harder questions. But then during the second half of the test he started to not like my answers :( and ended up giving me some real tough love AND THEN I FIND OUT HE HAS SOMEONE ELSE... I won't lie, I took a second to pout about it. They were cute together though so I'm into it now. As far as the result went, I actually found it funny, because of how deadly accurate it was. It was like a sniper shot at 3000 yards. I spend a lot of time looking inward, so I felt kinda proud that I beat the game by like six weeks. I recently started going to therapy to help with the exact problem Fate pointed out. So, two for two, color me impressed. Game three was... different. Destiny felt meaner. Some of his rhymes impressed me and some felt cheap and trite, he would hate to have me as his court jester. I felt more on guard, but like at this point I had something to prove. He can't carve anything out of me that I haven't already taken out of myself. It was notably longer than the other two, and I believe time affects your results, so do NOT play this game while your cat has ANY POSSIBLE access to a shelf full of Legos seven feet off the ground. I liked the inclusion of the image portion, and I had visceral reactions to some of them in the context of the questions that had been posed and the way my answer choices were formatted. I wish I could've given my own answers in this portion, I felt like I would've rather answered "Loss", "Grief", "Fear", on one occasion "Rapture", and the names provided as choices were... interesting... but that's an expected limit to the format. I felt so seen by my results. I'm not sure if this happens for every result or not, but Destiny leads off with this whole spiel about how he was really hoping to tear you to shreds with the worst that the future holds and I was so sure for a split second that this whole game series was one big joke, but then he changes his tune and spews some of the sweetest most uplifting ♥♥♥♥ I've ever heard. It really got to me, and it made me feel very seen and lowkey concerned for myself because if this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is being so nice to me I must be really ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up LOL. I had so many feelings about it that I'm not comfortable putting it into words. Then there was the speech at the end, about the social experiment. I know stuff like this is never "done" but I am playing all these after it has already happened. So I almost felt like I didn't deserve all the love, I never dropped a comment with a word, I wasn't there for all this. But then you started talking about depression, and the suicide epidemic, and I was there. I was there for that. I remember spending all night on the phone in with a middle-school friend whose name I no longer remember, trying to stay calm, trying to sound like my mom, doing research on the fly and trying to make sure they got out of the night alive. I remember more often never bothering to give a high school friend my number before it was too late. I never want anyone to have to feel the way so many of us have felt, and (obligatory I Am Not In Crisis) this game felt like the a voice on the other end of the phone to me tonight. So, I wanted to say thank you. Thank you. And before I forget, I don't need my name on anything, but because I want to be a part of this, here's my words: Appreciate/Potential/Angelic. If you want to know if I recommend these games, I do. If you want to know if you're alone, you're not. PS: WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THAT END SCENE?? I can't wait to play like every other game from this studio LOL.
The whole "The Test" trilogy was very interesting to go through and experience. While the results I got from all three games I have had heard in some form or another already, I can't deny the good advice and message it left me with. Although, looking at the variety of secret words there are, I am wondering how many different results there can be. While I wanted something more from the ending results, it could just be trying to get the "perfect" advice that might just help me out in my personal struggles in life. But, maybe, I already know the answers and just can't bring myself to put it in practice. Answering the questions was just as fun as well, and it did get me thinking about somethings I haven't given much thought about. Overall, I think it is a nice experience, and I definitely would recommend it to people, who haven't done much self-analyzing, or just love to answer questions. I do believe it can give some genuine answers or advice to some people. Secret words (in order of the trilogy): 1. Angel 2. Selfcare 3. Prospect
This review is going to be quite long but when a game asks questions like "would you rather press a button and kill your favourite pet or your favourite family member", I think I'm allowed to ramble a tad. I wanted to like this game. Admittedly I went in having not played the other games, but I approached it with curiosity and no prior knowledge of the games at all. I shouldn't have expected much. At the end, I got maybe 6 lines of "lesson" based on the word it gave me: compassion. It told me to think before I speak so I didn't hurt people and to put myself in other people's shoes to understand them. I'll spare you, but I am very good at putting myself in other people's shoes and thinking before I speak (most of the time). It felt like the game got this entirely wrong and gave me shockingly little in very broad strokes. And with the questions it asked, I can understand why. There was no nuance to anything. For example: it asked me if I had ever purposefully hurt an animal. I have so I pressed yes. What I couldn't say was that I had killed an animal that was hurt and dying slowly and painfully. But the game simply looked at that and went "ok she's a psychopath that pulls wings off butterflies, got it". I can see how this would be good for content creators to defend their choices on stream or a video, but I found it to be retroactively frustrating when it finally revealed that these yes or no questions were very superficially analysed and quite frankly not expanded on with the respect some of the topics deserved. And maybe this is because I am a 30 year old psychology graduate with all the bells and whistles of being miserable but I think the rest of the game's ending beyond your analysis was also deeply underwhelming. It was optimistic but in a way that felt naïve and juvenile in its perspective. But what cemented this game as a negative for me was its sequel chasing demons that it is building based on this test trilogy. I don't personally care about AI. But when a game that says we need to care for each other and we're all unique and we need the bad in order to see the good - all this incredibly floaty language and this noble optimistic goal of bettering the world then says "btw we're putting this into a really ambitious project and its made almost entirely with gen AI art work" at the end - it feels insincere and dystopian in its goals. The whole experience felt gross and gimmicky.
Order, Understanding, Skilled It feels as though the questions and answers were shuffled, re-baked, and added a new section for each subsequent game that I played. The feedback was nice, and answering the questions was fun. I do not quite see why you would need to purchase the other titles in this franchise to the start of any of the sections. Overall, was a fun afternoon going through these games.
I recommend this. It is a fun game where you get a load of questions to answer and you even get a little bit of feedback at the end. If you like quizzes and thinking then you should like this. Also, cool ambience.
Appreciative The love the The Test games they are so cool I can't wait to play one of their other games...
The word I got is: Self Love
very good game as the privious ones. yet i think it would be better with the pictures if players could write their answers alone, or if there would be more emotions to choose from. mz secret word is "skilled"
