Christmas Stories: The Legend of Toymakers Collector's Edition

No good. I always play a Christmas HOG or two during the holidays, and have enjoyed them all. Until this one. I don't know what happened to the developers, but they really dropped the ball and cheaped out on this one. The rooms were nice, but not nearly as Christmas-ey as they usually are. No super cozy and warm rooms like I always love in this game. And the ending came up WAY TOO SUDDEN! I was moseying along, and still had about eight rooms left in the strategy guide to find the secret items, and I completed a puzzle and the game showed about 5 seconds of an animation and then the credits rolled! What the heck?!? I don't recall ever playing one of these HOGs where the bonus puzzle pieces were not all found in the main game. Also - they couldn't even have created a nice graphic for the little Steam store game identifier. Just a plain red box with the title in white font. Lame! Anyway, I spent way too much time on this review for such a disappointing game. There are MUCH better Christmas HOGs out there. I hope this isn't a trend. Anyway . . . onwards to better HOGs.

It's just not what I'm used to in a big fish game.

Part way through the game, there is a glitch (hope it wasn't lazy game developer) that makes puzzle unsolvable which then makes it impossible to move forward in the game.

Fun and easy to navigate. Good story. Would recommend. Great holiday story line.

I played one of the Christmas games last year for my stream and decided to do it again. I thought it was alright until the blatant use of AI in the dlc (didn't see any in the main story but need to look again) which wasn't disclosed anywhere on the store for this game. As game developers you have a wide array of free assets to use for games and you chose to go the sour route of AI because you're lazy.

I would give this HOG a 4/10. It's not a very funny or even good story, it is followable, which is good. The puzzles are all fine but nothing was all that challenging. Nothing new or stand out was in this HOG for me.

This game had almost no story, but I had fun. Its simple, the resolution kinda made me laugh at how quick everything wrapped up, and the puzzles were fun. I had a good time.

J’ai plutôt bien aimé ce jeu de « point and click » surtout avec son thème de Noël. Je vais faire un retour rapide. Points positifs : - Le thème de Noël, - Le respect pour les « lutins » du Père Noël, - Une originalité sur l’origine de la magie de Noël et du Père Noël, - Les petits casse-têtes sont abordables et pas forcément difficile (en normal), - Une bonne re-jouabilité dû notamment au choix de la difficulté et des objets à collectionner, - L’histoire est sympathique sans être d’une grande originalité et ultra poussée, elle est plus un fil conducteur. Points négatifs : - La musique n’est pas très présente et je n’ai pas entendu les thèmes classiques de Noël, - Sa durée de vie est assez courte. J’ai passé un peu plus de 9h dessus mais il ne faut pas s’y fier car je l’ai laissé tourner pour « X » raisons. J’ai passé un bon moment dessus et je ne m’y suis pas ennuyé. Il est parfait pour les fêtes de fins d’années.

Weis nicht, bis jetzt gefällt es mir nicht so wirklich toll, ich besitze alle anderen Spiele dieser Episode aber schon von Anfang an, gefiel mir das Spiel nicht, die Grafik sieht auch aus als wenn sie durch die Waschmaschine gezogen wurde, ich werde es noch weiter spielen denke ich aber viel erwarte ich da auch nicht mehr was ich in den letzten paar Minuten gesehen habe. 14 Euro ist es mir allerdings nicht wert, wenn es wieder so kurz ist mit maxima 4 Std wie das letzte, dann sind 14 Euro etwas viel aber ok ich werde es sehen. Aktuell empfehle ich das Spiel nicht, sollte ich die Tage über umgestimmt werden dann werde ich auch dementsprechend meine Bewertung überarbeiten aber wie gesagt, bis jetzt bin ich nicht angetan von dieser Folge.
