If you're expecting a full flushed out game with a story and or quest line, look away. It's not here. If you want a mindless kill all the things with weird powers and insta killing with Melee weapons..this is the game for you. It needs a LOT of work but has potential. (as does every game) I want to say recommend..but at the same time No. Its not ready even at a low price if even at 10$ but its not 10$.
tldr: Its still early but Chonky looks promising (especially the "evolving" skill system). ---{ Graphics }--- ☐ You forget what reality is ☐ Beautiful ☐ Good ☑ Decent ☐ Bad ☐ Don‘t look too long at it ☐ MS-DOS Cute character models, doodles and weapon design + a cozy environment :) ---{ Gameplay }--- ☐ Very good ☐ Good ☑ Decent ☐ Mehh ☐ Watch paint dry instead ☐ Just don't Instead of fighting demons and angels like in other games of this genre, this time we are chonky dinos fighting against cute spoders (yes, they are called spoders), snails and many more to gather gold, better equipment and to evolve (literally) our skills. You can use many different weapons which have various modifiers and elements like poison, fire, light, etc. to whack enemies on the head. However, the most fun comes from spamming your skills. Not only because most skills do damage from range and are therefore a safer way of fighting, the more you use your dinos skills the more skills you can learn. As an example: at first you start by hitting enemies with a wooden sword either slash or stab them to death and *PUFF* a small window opens saying your little chonky dino realized throwing a small rock could also do some damage. So you go on throwing rocks at a helpless snail and some spoders and after a handful of rocks and corpses of animals another window opens telling you that your dino can now throw bigger rocks. After some time your chonky boy has brought enough death and carnage to the point conjuring a small fireball is now on the table. In the end you might find yourself throwing light spears, summoning tentacles of pure darkness and filling the screen with countless tornados. So the skill system is fantastic but what about the gameplay as a whole? Well chonky dinos are chonky so its a bit slow. If the gameplay would be more fast paced with less waiting for animations and filled with more content I would definitely raise the grade to "Good" if not "Very Good". ---{ Audio }--- ☐ Eargasm ☐ Very good ☑ Good ☐ Not too bad ☐ Bad ☐ I'm now deaf In general I am not the best in terms of music, nevertheless I think the playful tune matches the world most of the time. On some occasions, like when your dino enters the first village, it felt like the music should change to suit the change of forest filled with monsters to safe zone. However, later in the game you will reach more "dark" places where the music changes accordingly. A very interesting take on an ARPG. Reminds me a lot of some of my favorite PS1 classics (Spyro the Dragon, Kingsley's adventure). Since the title is still in Early Access, there is obviously still much work to be done by the developers, which one has to take into consideration when reviewing the game. Pros: 1) Unique characters, enemies and art style. This really conveys how much passion and creativity went into making this game. 2) Rewarding combat system that surprises the player with highly varied skill unlocks, keeping combat fresh. 3) Well-made inventory system, which is both easy to understand and use. 4) Although I haven´t had the chance to try it out yet, the local co-op mode sounds very intriguing to me, since good local co-op games are sadly pretty rare. Cons: 1) This being an early access title, there are still some graphical bugs (which the developers already acknowledged to be fixed soon). However, I did not encounter any game breaking bugs (yet), which is very promising for such an early release of the game. 2) There is a noticeable lack of sound FX, which will hopefully be resolved by the time this leaves early access. Recommendations: 1) The game needs a feature for rotating the camera to improve gameplay in small alleys (e. g. when there is a row of trees between which the player has to fight). 2) Some balancing adjustments regarding immobility upon skill casting might be required to make the player less vulnerable when casting weaker skills. 3) A sprint option when outside of combat would be greatly appreciated. All in all, this is a game with tons of potential, and for an early access title, it already plays well and feels extremely unique!
Played it at this Years Vienna Comicon. Loved it there and love it now too. Finally its here.

This game is the freaking cutest I have seen in a long time. Of course it still needs some polishing, but which game doesn't and I am still missing a bit of story and where to spend my thousand coins, but I see the potential. I could and would play the cute Chonky for hours, hopefully soon with the fire brother. Can't wait on how this will develop.
