Chiptune Champion

No hispeed options, v-sync enabled by default (tends to screw up timing in rhythm games), no proper difficulty levels ("expert" is just "expert", can be anything from easy to difficult), notes hit only shown as percentage (so no easy way to see how many misses), annoying to check your scores or even played songs (only FC is shown in song select before you navigate to the song), main selling point seems to be the music genre, so not very unique as a Guitar Hero clone. Cute little project, but nothing amazing as far as rhythm games go. Wouldn't personally buy full price, but a nice addition to your game collection if you're into rhythm games.

I had this game on my wishlist for a LONG time because it seemed like something I'd like given that I am a big fan of GH2 and 3, but I wasn't sure if this was for me. Turns out, it certainly was. It has the same natural-feeling vibe to GH, and has optional strumming. I was quickly able to transfer my GH experience after about 3 songs. My only gripe is that strum timing seems a bit unforgiving, but it's not a dealbreaker by any means. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys rhythm games. It feels solid, and the tunes are a blast.

I know this game is an older one, but being a rhythm game fanatic and lover of chiptunes I got excited and bought it. The game, however, is way too sensitive on when to hit a note. I can play other rhythm games just fine, but this one is giving me trouble, so I don't enjoy it at all.

Guitar Hero for chiptunes. Audio and video is well synced, it has workshop support for custom songs, includes an editor for creating such customs. Using 3rd party software it also works well with GH controllers. What more do you want? 10/10

Не то Guitar Hero (Frets on Fire), ни то Stepmania, но оставляет приятные впечатления. Из минусов: - каждую "струну" можно биндить только на одну кнопку. Ну это абсурд для казуалов. - разрешение экрана подозрительно низкое, глаз сразу цепляется за scale картинки-в-картинке - ооочень муторный кастом. Надо подписаться на чарт, затем отдельно скачать звуковой файл, куда-то там засунуть, что-то подредачить... Да ну нахрен. Понимаю, авторские права, но это вообще неприемлимое решение проблемы. Позабавиться можно. Мб зайдёт и тем, кто совсем чуток хочет отвлечься от Osu! Или той же степманьки. Ну, если вообще ещё остались такие...)
