I have a valve index have tried this game twice now since purchase. Puts me in space and I can go no where from there have to use windows key to exit game. i'm either brain dead for this game is pathetic. Do not buy! I would like my money back
Trash game. Vr but you can't even see the hands of your friend moving what is the point?!
Very bad, can't flip off my friend.
There are just so many fundamental mechanics missing. The only way you can move is by dragging the entire world with you hand which is very nauseating. There is no way to open a menu to resign or leave a match. You cant speak or chat with your opponent, there is only three time control modes. You don't have spend very long to realise this is a ♥♥♥♥ game, chess in table top simulator is literally a million times better and doesn't make you want to trow up every time you move
This game has a LOT of potential and with some polish could be amazing. Stuff like voice acting, a linear story, and more environments could be a great start.
This game has potential, but it lacks some basic functionalities such as: • A menu to offer a draw, resign, or offer take backs • The ability to bring up an analysis board to analyze positions • The ability to flip the board • An in-game chat (either voice or text, and for both players and spectators) • The ability to set custom time controls • The ability to host, and play in tournaments • The ability to explore openings and custom positions • A nice addition as well would be to have a "virtual" chess clock instead of an hourglass Overall if some basic quality of life improvements could be made, this game would be much better off.
Could not even play chess, setting menu is useless, can't move, can't pick up pieces when spending what feels like forever dragging myself to board, want money back
No board noises, no relevant setting options, no idea how to operate at least the sound controls, annoying monotonous music, I find it very annoying that the moved piece just stays on the board. Why don't they just mark the square as usual or make it adjustable,, no operating the chess clock. In the online game, no information about the opponent, no Elo visible, let alone a rating. I find the chess board itself pleasant in size and usability, except that, as already mentioned, the moved piece stays where it is until the next move. The opponent's movements are clear and always the same, regardless of the chess position. The checkers game included in the package does not start. Causes an error message.
Experienced on a Meta Quest 2 using airlink. Chess VR is one of the best chess games I have played. Flat screen and VR. I love the different scenes you play in, each one is very unique and will fit your mood. Specially the battle chess type scene, I love those little guys. The game does more then just look good though, it offers a solid game of chess to play. Playing it in VR is just amazing. The game can be played single player or online. Both do an amazing job at finding an opponent at your level of play. Which brings up the AI in the game. Single player is AI match making is bang on. I am not a good chess player at all. Most chess games I have tried the AI was to hard or just a push over. This game gets it just right. The AI was a great challenge and I felt like I really earned my win and the game could of gone either way. The games AI is great for all levels and will be a fun opponent. Online the game does the same thing finding you the perfect opponent to play against. The game also supports cross play between PCVR and Quest 2 and also the mobile version . This gives you over 7 million players to play with any time. The game world looks and feels great in VR, and is fun to move around and explore and look at the details. Each scene felt very immersive. The game also features constant updates and events for the players. The devs are very interactive with the player base on their discord channel as well. If you enjoy chess and are looking for a solid chess VR game, look no further then Chess VR. This is top of the VR chess games. Watch my preview here, https://youtu.be/XxCG2iwtBd0
The game soft locks after i try to promote a pawn. I tried pressing every button on both controllers and nothing happens and it wont let me promote my pawn.
