Ganz ehrlich?
This game uses the stockfish 11 engine so there's that. It has an achievement for 800 tower levels so there's more of that. I got it half off for under $2 so there's less of that. And finally, it works fine on my steam deck so take that. That's all.
Great if you like chess problems. I have a BIG issue with this game: the "Find the best move in x" problems. Many of them aren't forced combinations. Example of a "best move in 3": White's Rook captures a pawn which is faux protected by a pinned pawn. Black replies by moving his King, breaking the pin. At this point, White's Rook has to move -- and there are literally a half-dozen safe squares. But the game recognizes only one of them as the "correct" square. Once you find that square (by trial and error), Black pushes a pawn to attack a Bishop. The Bishop moves to the only safe square, and the problem is solved. BUT 2/3rds of that "three move" problem is superfluous -- once the Rook takes the pawn, the material is won and the problem is solved. FURTHERMORE in the same problem, the pinning White Queen could also take the protecting pawn as the first move of the "combination", since the protecting pawn's protector is itself also pinned. In short, you'll come across a fair number of positions with multiple starting moves or with non-forced intermediate moves in which the software recognizes just the one move which has been programmed.
For less than $3 you are getting a nice implementation with a puzzle ladder, play against an engine, and achievements to chase. If you enjoy chess/chess puzzles it is tough to not pick this up :P Have not played a lot yet but so far working nicely and the puzzle tower is fun.
A clear 2D game with multiple levels and puzzles, It got me interested in chess again.
I love chess so I decided to give this game a try.I like what i saw.Game is working fine and the music is nice, you can play games vs pc,friends and has a puzzle tower. It looks and feels very nice. Recommended.
The interface is very intuitive. The game also plays very smoothly. One feature that many Chess players would find useful would be the ability to save games in pgn format. This is a very good program for starting players, but does lack features for more advanced ones. One issue with the ladder problems is that some problems have more than one answer, but only recognize one of them.
Was buying to play with a friend but cannot invite him (although we both have the game) Otherwise game looks pleasant.
