Solid single-player chess experience with a unique twist. It combines classic puzzles with fascinating history about female players and interesting "what if" scenarios. The clean presentation and the witty bot make it a joy to play.
A good game with straightforward analysis and interesting puzzles.
Another great game in the BOT.vinnik series! Well-made puzzles and a touch of humor that keeps things light. I really loved the idea of learning from historic matches played by legendary female players.
Fun experience and a beautiful tribute to female chess players. The content is very easy to digest, and it's very interesting to see hypothetical scenarios for real games. Not to mention that BOT.vinnik's bad mood never gets old :)
I really enjoy chess, and this new addition to the BOT.vinnik collection has brought new knowledge and very interesting strategies to my repertoire as a player. I highly recommend it to chess enthusiasts!
It's really cool to learn about the history of great female chess players and, at the same time, test scenarios of “what if something had been done differently?” And the bot's humor is a fun touch.
Of all my paid 2500+ Steam purchases, the BOT.vinnik Chess series is an 'auto-buy' insta-click. You get a great amount of chess situations, divided into chapters, based on the most (and lesser) known masters from the past, packaged in an Apple Macintosh 1980s look, with a charming NPC mocking you (or praising you) accordingly. And the price is more than fair. If you are new to chess and overwhelmed by the options on your iPhone or Android, this Steam series is a great entry to playing the game of chess, while solving short puzzles (strictly according to the actual chess rules - no nonsense/fantasy rules). After you made the right moves, each time you also get a short explanation WHY these players moved one way and not another, giving you more insight into how they played and how YOU should evaluate situations. At times, you get the 'what-if' scenarios, playing out what 'could' have happened. Effortlessly teaching you along the way, without making it feel like 'school'. You feel getting smarter each time. And if you are an 'old person' - like me - you are delighted to revisit all those famous games from the past and might remember seeing those chess puzzles in your newspaper from the 1960s, 70s and 80s (not just in the Pravda). Runs flawlessly on SteamDeck and Linux - default settings, any Proton/WINE version will do. You can also run it in 'windowed mode' in Linux
Solid chess game with a clean presentation and a good focus on classic strategy. It’s easy to pick up, but still offers enough depth to keep things interesting if you enjoy thinking through your moves. Good option for anyone who likes chess and wants a straightforward single-player experience.
Finally a new title from the series!
Another cool chess set for my collection.
