Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 22 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It plays both sides' moves so quickly that 15 moves fly by in just a few seconds making it nearly impossible to memorize the sequence. Also, the interface is awful, with no way to exit from the main screen and no options such as move speed, forward/back controls, etc. In order to learn just one opening, I had to replay the unskippable animations and moves dozens of times from the main menu. The author is not a real programmer, clearly.
Like some others have said, the presentation is sparse. I can't stand the looped music on Ruy Lopez and Noah's Ark, everything else I've tried so far is "hm, okay". If you expect this to be a "Chess for Dummies", then the first few tries of Ruy Lopez will disabuse you of that notion in a hurry, unless you're already really good. In which case, you probably won't buy this game. But for the rest of us new-to-chess players, it's a fun, if somewhat brutal way to "get good or get lost". Pros: * You get to learn about 19 different openings, and if you can remember your way through them, you may actually become a better player. If you're like me and barely know your pins from your forks, then this won't be an easy ride. Cons: * Man, I wish the sound effects could be left in but have that backing track in Ruy Lopez just muted. * Not enough sarky comments from the bot. * No help given as to what would happen directly after your less-than-optimal move, just a "Nyet" or worse. * The "close" button inside the interface doesn't close the application, you've got to click the close button on the window instead. Would I buy it again? I bought this and the other games in the collection for a pretty cheap price, so I shouldn't complain. I can think of better ways of presenting the required information, but this at least achieves the aim of teaching you about openings and their traps. So I begrudgingly gave it a Yes.

BOT.vinnik Chess: Opening Traps is one of six educational Chess puzzle games where you play subsets of chess games under guidance from a slightly snarky 2D retro pixel robot. The purpose is to teach advanced Chess stratagems to the player. Playing this game and understanding the puzzles will definitely make you better at chess. While the puzzles are fun, and the core design work, especially the puzzle selection and presentation and narration of the puzzles is very good, the implementation here is not so good. Each game only has around 20 short puzzles, and it's unclear why this had to be launched as 6 separate games. Did the publisher really want to pay Valve $600 instead of the $100 required to launch a game? The visual and interface quality is very low, as well, with monochrome 2D retro pixel art making everything look ugly. This is the kind of thing that really could have been done in a browser or even just a Youtube video, so charging money for it on Steam seems overly ambitious.
Short but fun collection of chess puzzles, though should be re-titled as chess puzzles that came from specific openings. Game is cheap enough (esp on sale) to give it a shot.
Ótimo para reconhecer padrões de abertura.
