Chef Life: A Restaurant Simulator
I thought it would be a relaxing game, and now I'm stressing over serving 4 different dishes at the same time while my sous chefs keep saying "I have nothing to do"

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

It looked promising, but the controls felt so clunky I could barely get through the tutorial and the audio had issues cutting in and out (which looks like an ongoing problem if you look at comments here and on Reddit). If you want to try the game, wait for a really good sale (which is what I did, thankfully, since I'm past the refund period).
I really really want to love this game. It just seems like such a fun game. But instead, I found that the controls are tedious to the point of rage-inducing. ♥♥♥♥ makes ZERO sense and it's incredibly clunky. Like, I just don't get it- this could be a great game, so why tf did they add the dumbest keyboard/mouse controls like this? Why is everything non-intuitive? <.< Just avoid the f'ing headache. Maybe it's because the studio's name is 'Cyanide' and after 2hrs of playing this game you're ready to take a few of those pills, like, damn.
HELLO, WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE DORITO FLAVOUR?

Mine is spicy dill pickle or cool ranch
Anyway this game is addicting in the worst ways for myself, personally. I was born and raised in the restaurant industry and have worked low end pubs to med-fancy (think The Keg level) places as a cook and to me I've been absolutely addicted to cooking games. I was a major fan of Diner Dash until....whatever the hell it turned into nowadays.. I digress I love this game and it honestly takes me back to my kitchen manager days in the sense that no matter what I do one of my chefs is always a p.o.s. dumbass that wants the day off and screws the kitchen for the nightly service and then is confused and outraged at me because the next day I decided they were cleaning/doing dishes literally all day. I'm gonna be honest I will never get a certain achievement in the game because I'm realistic and stick to my real-life tactics as a head chef. You want the day off? I'll always grant that. IRL, too. But you will owe not me, but your coworkers. You will clean all day long because they sacrificed for you. Not me. I'm the head chef. I just give the orders, do the invoices, and expodite. IRL that's actually a sweet ass position if you can land it. Its your line cooks that do the hardest work because you already did. So when one of them screws the team, you gotta reward the others for their sacrifice while also making the other person give gratiously help to the ones who served them so they may take an extra day off. I'm sorry, but IRL that is the code and I can't see it not being transitioned into this game. Except for the fact that I may never receive that achievement and honestly that's okay because the amount of times I ask Kassim to do the extras and let him pick his jobs (extras or prep) that loser always OUTWARDLY huffs and complains when I ask him most graciously to clean the kitchen so Jiro may have some experience. Honestly? if I may suggest something? Can I FIRE people? I'd honestly rather work alone than deal with certain chef attitudes in this game. But honestly it's super fun because it makes you think and plan ahead for the services and if you're like me and didn't realize you could order your dude to wash dishes until you unlock Jiro JUST SO YOU KNOW YOU CAN LIKE, ASK THEM TO WASH DISHES DURING SERVICE. I'm too much of a.....idk I guess a "boomer" but I'm an elder millennial and drunk so that's basically 60+ current brainwise, like a boomer or early Gen-X. I was raised with technology but omfg this was something I missed.
Anyway...
The Gastonomic Veal dish is stupid because it told me I have to slice the....lenu or whatever pork at THICK [strike]shut up i'm thinking it, too and i'm immature[/strike] slice but for some reason the game gave me an error for thickness?? Corsican Veal gastronomic level. I'm drunk but I'm not that drunk, dude. My chefs stand around whining during service but IRL i'm too invested in a kitchen even though I work flooring installation nowadays but honestly in their downtime these guys should be sweeping to help keep the hygiene up instead of complaining they "don't have work to do". You treat this so much like an IRL situation in the sense that chefs are WHINY AF (no joke that's exactly how they are, y ou ask them to sweep the floor and they're like "UGH" like they're Gordon Ramsay or something ♥♥♥♥♥ you ain't foolin' anyone Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsay, NOT EVEN RACHEL RAY AND SHE'S A HOME CHEF IS LOOKIN' AT YOU, LOSER. GET OVER IT.) The game makes it real in the sense that yeah, my line cooks are whiny. My favourite meme is "when I die I want my line cooks to lower my casket into my grave so they can let me down one last time" IT'S TRUE, DUDES. I still use it to this day but I'm working in flooring installation now but even here, it still applies. "my subcontracters should lower into my grave to let me down one last time." It's real. This game is fun but there was that one error and I wish more than one table would show up at a time. It's real frustrating that my restaurant has like 8 tables up to 6 people available at my largest but the game only gives me up to 4 at a table and
one. at. a . t i m e . . .
I cannot with the instructions, it was too much. The gameplay is confusing if I'm being honest, some might enjoy the challenge, but I got a headache. It was promising at first, but it didn't work for me.
