As a fellow dev I got this free, so take this review with the caveat that as I got it for free - I may be less reliable than some who did pay for it, as a dev, I may be more critical than the average gamer. As a EA game, this has promise - its always tough to give it a blanket 'thumbs up' this early in the development phase. It is a ton of fun, coupled with being one of the most energetic (and exhausting) VR experiences I've played to date. Minus a hyper-caffeinated Longbow session that garnered me my best score so far... There is a fair amount of 'suspension of disbelief' to get fully engaged, as the chains needed to escape are literally hovering in mid-air. As others have suggested, giving more levels - like 'escape over the lava pit' or 'swing from vines Tarzan style' might enhance the 'believeability' The game starts with a simple mechanic and ramps up the difficulty - from there we'll have to see what the dev comes up with. Overall, good campy kitchy fun!

Chainless is one of those experiences that can only work well in VR. It's a great game idea which will really come into its own when the developer implements competitive multiplayer. Swinging through the chains while trying to stay ahead of your opponent (and obstructing them) will really take this to the next level!

Not my thing but if it's your kink than pick up on sale or in a bundle. Good for your pet monkey or that family member who gets around in a cheetah patterned loincloth. Recommended for the above freaks.
This game took me by complete surprise, I expected to feel sick because of the amount of falling one would inevitable experience. Instead, it rarely happened and I felt challenged because of the game mechanics simplicity, yet it was difficult. It took me some time to understand various mechanics, but all the mechanics I've met, I've understood so far in my short playthrough here. The concept definitely has promise and was a lot more interesting than I initially thought. It's a very different VR game from the standing still shooters, various point and click adventures, sports games etc. But I really liked the difference! I'll be heading back to see if it's possible to gain that top 10 spot. - Of course global leaderboards provides an extra incentive to getting higher scores. ;)

This game makes frustration addictive. I'm not sure how else to put it. A very simple concept with an interesting implementation - I know its still early days and look forward to the changes, but at the moment there are few other games that have me colouring the air blue yet still coming back to try again. A simple experience that I've already spent far too much time in, and while I was swearing when I pulled my vive off... I know I'll be back. More then any game this put my immediate vicinity at risk, as I practically threw myself at a chain. (and missed)... swearing all the way down before trying again. I got it as a gift, and I can see myself sharing the frustration by passing on the favour. Though I'm not sure if it qualifies as a gift or a prank.
