About
Celestial Command is a realistic co-op crafting survival sandbox space game which unites an orbital mechanics, realistic physics, ship constructor and various features of classic space games.
Mine asteroids, salvage space debris, build space ships and stations, manage fuel and energy, trade goods, performs missions and fight against enemies in large open world with realistic 2D physics based on orbital mechanics or in alternative, more classic game mode.
The world of the game works based on simplified orbital mechanics. Everything in state of constant orbital motion. Perform orbital maneuvers and keep your space ships on stable orbits to prevent crashing on a planet or loosing ship in deep space.
The physics simulates in 2D space, this makes flying and navigation enjoyable and easy but also generates a lot of interesting situations due physical collisions which are more often in 2D space than in 3D.
Explore a procedural galaxy filled with various types of stars, black holes, planets, asteroids, space stations and other interesting things which we will constantly add in the future.

You can build your own ship part by part. Each part of the ship is individual, it has own functions and parameters. Therefore, abilities of your ship are completely dependent on the modules from which it is assembled. You can build small explorers, large industrial ships, carriers, defense satellites or whatever you want.
Each module can be detached or attached to the ship right on the fly, which allows to transform your ship using found modules.
All resources of the ship are limited. Including fuel, energy, ammo and construction materials, so store them and use them wisely.
You are not bound to a single ship. You can build as many ships and space stations as you want. And you can switch control between them anytime. Also it is possible to control your ships not only directly, but also giving movement orders.
Mine asteroids for useful resources or salvage wreckage of broken ships in order to build new modules and produce fuel.
Build various types of devices to fight against enemies. Cannons, lasers, rockets, shields and more.

I first played this game many years ago and every time i come back i am stunned by how much has been added and improved! This is a real gold nugget among the games.
Hey devs, you doing okay? I really like your game, and we haven't heard from you guys at all. More curious if you guys are okay over the game.
+1 Though only buy it if you like what is there as the devs can't financially afford to focus on developing it more currently, so there may or may not be any more updates.
Under Romenics' own admission, this game was developed in bad-faith, as Romenics (lead Dev) has openly admitted that this 12-year-old project was just a "learning project to gain game development experience," and a separate entity: "Science Interactive is also us, just registered in another country... we used all our time and experience from Celestial Command to make Cafemart Simulator." I warn any user against purchase as this is a potential violation of the Early Access Conduct.
This game had potential but misses every step along he way. The tutorial is a joke, and there a no instructions or goals after you build your capitol ship. Plus you can only visit 3 star systems and can never go back. What's the point? Garbage!!
Very interesting little gem — but also a slightly annoying one. I don’t think the guys who made this ever had a real plan to turn it into a proper business, judging by their communication. It’s hard to have patience with this because of the slow development speed and because of that choice they made to restrict or remove FUNCTIONs, features from game ~2 years ago, and still waiting to add back. Maybe you already gave up if you tried it before, but if you’re starting now, here’s the deal: you can only jump between asteroid belts, capture bases, kill NPCs — and building ships for hours to try and shoot with them. I have just started 2025 august, did not find any other similar game even this new era one, and upcoming cbeams not announced also, so i bought this. If you want to try and then refund before 4 hours runs out here is some tips: mostly everything runs well but it tells not it is already there, e.g. you just have to change ships, click on warp module to warp, hover to cursor on docking module while pushing F, quite annoying but not so buggy. minor bug but extreme annoying: saves reloading shows wrong place and ship, but everything is there, just move or click or whatever. Biggest issue: in building mode by time freeze, so save regularly. Extreme annoying to make battlemode work properly. Option in battle: sandboxmode on. And in build mode set even weapons shortcuts, load cargo with ammo, etc and then save blueprint.
patience expired. No faith this will be finished.
DO NOT BUY IT IS A SCAM The devs have now said they are abandoning the game, but in the mean time they have made another one. They are so honourable they are still selling and taking your money even if the game will never be finished. Go to the community forums now and read this article makes you wonder doesn`t it. https://steamcommunity.com/app/330460/discussions/2/839502870935123264/ Mind you Steam is as bad to let them still sell abandoned products for money great ethic by both companies. Do yourselves a solid stay far away from this rip off of a company/Dev. Update From another user Azil posted on the game community forum. I’m not claiming public Steam data proves where the money went. It doesn’t. But the public record looks awful. Celestial Command launched into Early Access on Nov. 20, 2014. A Wayback snapshot from July 1, 2015, only about seven months later, shows the lead developer’s Steam profile at 270 games owned, 303 DLC, level 65, and 70 badges. His current public profile shows 1,278 games, 1,767 DLC, level 136, and 196 badges. That is an increase of 1,008 games and 1,464 DLC from a conservative post-launch baseline. His current profile also shows 95.7 hours played in the last two weeks, and Steam Replay 2025 shows 105 games played, 1,467 sessions, 367 achievements, and 49 new games. Again, that does not prove misuse of funds. But for a game that has been in Early Access for over a decade and is now effectively paused because the team says they lack money, it is a hell of a public contrast. It also seems that the developers launched a different game under a different company name as well. This occurred in 2025. It is crazy i can be banned saying hurty words about a dev or fanboy but Steam will not answer any complaint tickets you put in and do not do anything about companys that are clearly not working on there games but still allow them to take our money. Why does Steam just stop selling these products......
Basically abandonware.
