The second of this kind that i play, worth every penny, is fun, fast and making me realize I have to either replace my space bar or buy a new keyboard.
I really want to recommend this game, the main missions are fun and challenging, however this game is way to forgiving, and also way too unforgiving. The grappling distance allows you to "cheat" a level and catch yourself if you're falling, but then at times I'll die to the red spikes when it seems like I am clearing them. It's like the models are much bigger or much smaller than they seem. In the challenge mode you have to collect orbs, I've had orbs go right through the top portion of my screen yet it doesn't register. I will be running on a wall and slip downwards and fall off. The inconsistencies of the game make it honestly way to frustrating, despite the low price point.

This is the traversal parkour game of my dreams. -The main levels have a great difficulty progression with new mechanics introduced each world -Best swinging, hookshot, and wallrunning mechanics I've seen in a while -Once mastering controls, makes you feel like a speedrunner -Great amount of content for price (campaign, challenge, free roam) -SICK music Very glad I stumbled upon this on itch.io, severely underrated fun game
It looks like a fun game with some fluid and dynamc mechanics to move across the levels, but controls are often unresponsive. Jumping when you're at high speed it's almost impossible, forcing you to stop before a jump, which makes no sense, since the game's whole point is about jumping and speedrunning. Also collitions for some objects like mines and orbs are way too weird. This makes it a mostly frustrating experience. Concept is pretty cool and it has its momments, but I didn't really enjoy the overall experience. Also you should know it's a really short game. 1~2 hours, even less.
I tried playing around in the campaign and the "Free roam mode", but the physics were really unbalanced and you don't even get what the game makes you think you're getting. Speed. As soon as you finish any action your momentum almost instantly drops to 0. I wish that it'd keep on going without having to be the most fancy person putting 10k hours in the game tryharding. Also the timer starts as soon as you spawn in and you have to reclick the "W" key to move again, which just annoys me to a great extent. I know the game just came out but there are several issues with the game and I think it needs a big rework.
If your favorite part of Ghostrunner was the platforming you'll probably enjoy this. If you spent a lot of time with either (or both) of the Titanfall games then you'll probably enjoy this. If you played and enjoyed Mirror's Edge you'll probably enjoy this. Even if none of the above are true you still get swing around like Spiderman and dash through levels at highway speed. For five bucks I think its worth at least checking out.
I give this game a neutral positive. Celerity has 4 areas, around 10 levels in each one. You use a hook to swing a lot and run on the wall (bit like Ghost Runner). Game is not very challenging, levels do not vary much. You cannot go fast, so there are always time to react. Game also tolerates mistakes, if you fall you can almost always hook back, then swing high enough to where you missed. The main flaw is I find some paths are illogical, that decreases the fun of play. Another thing is the accelerate lane make it almost impossible to jump. After 1 hour I am at the 4th level in last area, frustrated and decided to stop. A good same genre game I've played recently is Verlet Swing. Celerity asks players to run on the road yet the other one asks players to avoid touching anything.
This game was great to play, totally worth the $5 I spent (I think I got it on sale i dont remember lol). I am trying to get this game on speedrun.com and will be trying to create a speedrun leaderboards, thats how epic this game is. 10/10 would buy again
Celerity has good pleasing graphics and music is great and fits the momentum based play style. But the controls are way to rigid and some of mechanics and level designs really kill the flow of the game. A lot of the jump pads are just not placed well and require to actually jump on them instead of running into them, I get this requires more skill but it really stops the flow of your run and doesn't make much sense, I should be able to run into them at full speed and make the jump, not smash my face on the edge of the next platform. Decent amount of levels and good spacing of presenting new mechanics over time. This game is good, close to great if some of those mechanics and controls were tightened up. I wanted to love this but ultimately just felt frustrated with most levels and didn't feel like going back and improving my times. Always keen for more parkour/free running games. I will come back to this if there are updates.
Needs more polish.
