A cute game but also makes you think about life..
Genuinely an amazing and thought-provoking game! It makes me self-reflect on my own life and what legacy I will leave behind. I just love how all the plot interactions come from the perspective of an elderly family cat overhearing the drama and tragedy of this family. You really feel like a cat eavesdropping on conversations while doing the random wacky stuff house cats tend to do. All the characters are unique and engaging. I started off hating them and their rich snobbish personalities, but the more we learn of their backstories, the more you relate to them in your own life. The game at several points will intentionally mislead you into thinking where the plot is going and it becomes an amazing heartfelt story. I am sure you already know this, but don't expect a lot of gameplay as this is basically a walking sim with VERY light gameplay elements. Give this game a shot if you like story-driven atmospheric games. It is quite short at 4-6 hours so it might be better buying on sale. But for the enjoyment and self-reflection I got out of it, I would have paid full price.
I just finished Cats and the Other Lives. This game really touched me. It made me think about myself. Not because the world is bad or anything like that, but because I feel like I’m trapped by my past, or maybe by my own obsessions. Thank you for this experience.
I enjoyed, savored, and absorbed every pixel, sound, animation, event, and twist this game had to offer. This is an absolute must-play. Let’s break it down: The game tells us a story through our adventures as the family cat. As we wander around, solving wonderfully imagined situations along the way, we gradually move forward in the story and begin to understand what is happening, both through present events and echoes of the past. It is fun, mysterious, as innocent as it is mature. The visual, artistic, and sound design elements it uses to give depth and emotional weight to everything that unfolds are basically a masterclass in how to make this kind of game at a god-tier level. The ending is deeply moving. This is one of those games that only come along a few times in a lifetime.
An interesting approach to the story's point of view. I like the way you start as a cat that is just there, but isn't really a participant in the story, but as time goes on, you start to have more and more influence and see how much in fact the cat matters in the family. The story itself is intriguing, with the way the histories of the different characters unfold and how the past, present, and possible future are intertwined, but be warned that there are a couple of heavier scenes. Additionally, it was really cool that you could experience most of the typical cat activities, such as messing with people, throwing up, and screaming until a door is opened for you. Did encounter a couple of minor bugs. One was after a cutscene, the part of the room that it occurred in was left covered in a black screen. Second one happened when entering a room at the same time when an NPC that was following you started saying something and in the following room its chat bubble was left there permanently till the end of the game (loading back didn't help). There is one more regarding the achievement for the memories, which a number of people have had a problem getting after fulfilling the requirement, but at least there's a fix in the discussions, and regarding the achievements, it would be nice if there was an option to skip entire conversations and cutscenes.
Simple and Cringe but i really love it, and for me the Story is really nice!
这个家没有猫猫迟早得散
Beware of the ending if you are sensible to pets A very nicely written story of a family and its issues. I admit the game makes it look like the family didin't care at all for the cat. Decent gameplay even if it is primarily point and click. If you like story-driven games, this one is for you. One thing worth mentioning is that you can tell the creators really know cats, and they gave a nice twist on explaining how and why cats can be weird sometimes. Just beware that the ending is a bit sad and I didn't really like how they portrayed the cat (I don't want to spoil things)...
Cats and the Other Lives, Aspen adlı turuncu bir kediyi kontrol ettiğiniz Türk yapımı bir pixel oyunu. Zaman zaman gerilimli anlar yaşatan, bulmacalarını çözmeye çalıştığınız ve yer yer zorlayan bir yapım.
