About

Casting Whispers is a first-person psychological horror game where sound is your greatest tool. Investigate the paranormal events that plague a city in 1960s America. Shut your eyes. Trust your senses. Listen to the darkness.
1961. Corburgh, Connecticut, USA. An old industrial city plagued by urban legends, the sins of its past, and unexplained phenomena. For Victoria, a lab assistant working in the field of psychic and mental psychology known as Extra-Sensory Perception (ESP), Corburgh was always home. A place to study and learn.
But tonight, something is very wrong with her trusted mentor, Professor Henry Zubringer. Something lies in wait at his apartment building. Something that has sat hidden in the heart of Corburgh for a very long time. Enter the shadows within 1195 Norman Ave., investigate what happened there, and try to save your friend... and yourself.
What was that noise? Press and hold ‘Listen’ to shut your eyes, calm your mind, and focus your hearing. The Listening feature can be used to eavesdrop on secret conversations behind doors, find hidden mechanisms, and hear that which cannot be seen. Use it to make new discoveries, piece together the full mystery, and survive the entity that stalks you.
Casting Whispers features a single-player linear narrative across 6–8 hours of gameplay, set in claustrophobic environments steeped in Americana and Lovecraftian influence. You can unlock multiple endings depending on chance or your own choices, some of which aren’t entirely obvious. How many will you dare to find?
“Casting Whispers is a proud indie project, created by a solo developer and fully voiced by union talent. I could not have made Casting Whispers without the help of those who gave advice and collaborated with me. It has been a joy to make. Thank you!” — Lantern Bay

First-Person Psychological Horror: Casting Whispers is developed by solo indie developer Lantern Bay. Drawing from his experience working on game audio for League of Legends, Westworld Awakening, Horizon Zero Dawn, and more, Casting Whispers utilizes sound and hearing to create a uniquely atmospheric, immersive horror experience.

Jesus Christ... this is Lantern Bay Entertainments first game... and it was brilliant. I played the demo and had a really good time with it. The developer reached out to me and gave me a code for "Casting Whispers"... and if you know me or just ask anyone in my community... my "opinion" on a game cannot be bought. So the review you're reading is honest. The story in this game is very well done. The pacing was good... the unease you'll feel playing it even when you can't see an antagonist or hostile force you're dealing with is intense... and it's all driven by the story. The voice actors for the game also did an amazing job "selling" the story and the mood/tone of each situation. This game is completely worth your time if you like games with good story and substance... and I feel where it falls close to the five hour mark for me it's right at the perfect price point of $14.99... so you won't be overpaying for a short experience.
Totalmente recomendable.

Casting Whispers is an ambitious game given the size of the dev team. It's beautiful with great voice work, has a very developed world and a great monster, and there are no glitches or performance issues that I found. The game is maybe a tad bit long (lots of walking) and some of the puzzles are very hard to get started on (just make sure you are pressing "v" to close your eyes and then spend some time listening for hints/clues), but for $15 I think it's a great horror experience and I'm glad I played it. I did receive it for free but I likely would have picked it up anyways based on the strength of the demo. Do yourself a favor and give it a try. I look forward to more games from this dev!

This is a stunning game, both in looks & unique mechanics. I 100% recommend to anyone who enjoys a Psychological Horror game with a deep story line!
This game is truly a harrowing experience, at times terrifying, alternating with psychedelic moments that only the greatest directors like Lynch or Cronenberg could conceive, but SPOILER ALERT What makes the game harrowing and often terrifying are the bugs and the sometimes immense gap between autosaves. Just so you know, the game will allow you to save manually from a certain point onward, but at every crucial moment, where reality and false reality blur together in a span of time that often approaches half an hour, you won't be able to save. If you're lucky enough not to encounter any bugs, you'll be able to reach the next checkpoint; otherwise, as happened to me, you'll replay a particular section at least twice (I did four times, uttering the name of God several times, all to no avail). I didn't finish the game because in the final section, which begins with a huge disclaimer that says something like, "From now on, there's no ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ way you'll save, you damned piece of ♥♥♥♥ gamer." The thing is, it doesn't even accurately tell us how long it will last, and at about half an hour, I found myself falling into the void, endlessly. And when I say endlessly, I mean I purposely left the game running, went to take a shower, then went shopping, and finally returned to the screen, where the character continued to fall into the void. I think this is a potential the developers have just discovered; the game is essentially a creator of dimensions and worlds, even if it's completely involuntary. I don't feel like writing in English anymore because my grammar sucks.
_____________________________________ Replay of the Casting Whispers gameplay stream — a very interesting sensory psychological horror game (I’ll definitely keep playing because I really liked it).You play as a parapsychology academic in the 1960s who receives a very eerie phone call from your professor and sets out to investigate. The game features unique mechanics, such as closing your eyes to better hear your surroundings. The sound design is amazing, the graphics are beautiful, and if you turn off Unreal’s motion blur, the performance improves significantly.
