Casino Heist: Aruba

As an Aruban who has spent the last couple years working in Casinos, I had to check this game out. If nothing else, to look for inaccuracies or misrepresentation. I think they did surprisingly well, although there was less actual casino related content than I'd expected. I have several notes. 1. Mention of Weisswurst. My German aunt traumatized me with these as a kid when we visited. A delicacy, we were told. A special treat. Truly traditional cuisine. I was the only one in my family who couldn't stomach them. Every time with those awful white sausages. I'm not saying they're the reason I haven't visited Germany in 20+ years, but they certainly don't help. 2. $17 for two cocktails? Not in the tourism district, I can tell you that for sure. 3. During the restaurant scene, one of the characters orders "Keshi Yena Ravioli." Now, first off, it's misspelled as "Kenshi" in the game, but there's no 'n' in keshi. Starting this game, I decided immediately I would bring up keshi yena in my review, if the game didn't mention it. You did. Good on you. Gold star for research. Local dish that's way better than it sounds (I know, the list of ingredients sounds a little weird) and, although the ravioli bit isn't traditional, solid choice. Btw, "keshi yena" literally translates to "stuffed cheese" although that's not really relevant to the game. 4. Whomever came up with the Dutch names for this game was clearly being a cheeky bugger. The Hairy Beaver casino is one thing, but Femke's surname being "Moffenhoer" is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wild. I won't spoil the surprise of what that means; partially because I'm worried Steam would remove my review. 5. Elena is stated to work at the Casino near Royal Plaza Mall and says she started her shift at 4AM. Obviously, the Harige Bever isn't real, but the casino near Royal Plaza is the only one on the island with 24 hour tables where a dealer shift starting at 4AM would be possible. Either staggering coincidence or the writer really knows their Aruban casinos. 6. When the protagonists are discussing how to launder their money, they bring up 'structuring deposits' and buying art and it made me feel like the person who wrote this has had to sit through the same mandatory anti-money laundering courses I've sat through at work. Only thing missing was mention of nuclear arms proliferation. God only knows why the government thinks anybody would be trying to fund nuclear arms proliferation on Aruba, but we have to learn about it every 6 months. Settling on jewelry (and knowing about all the jewelers on main street) is... well... I ain't saying nothing, but... you know... rumors exist. Alleged rumors. 7. Gerhard mentions he doesn't understand what the old men in the local bar are saying, but we don't actually get any dialogue from those old men. This would've been a good moment for some cheeky Papiamento (the local language) to be thrown in. Nobody would understand it anyway. Well, almost nobody. 8. There's just one thing that felt really unrealistic: Femke looks up her old contacts on the island after a year and manages to stay under the radar. Nah, no way. People talk here. You show up again after a year and visit one old friend, half the island knows you're here by the end of the day. All in all, pretty fun visual novel. I think the third(?) I've played by Little Black Book and I always got the impression they did their homework about the places and people they feature in their games. Can't speak for the UK parts of the game, but the Aruba knowledge was surprisingly accurate.

[b]이 게임은 제작사로부터 큐레이터 커넥트 받은 게임입니다.[/b] [h1]보1지 안보여줌. 꼭1지 보여줌. 스토리 위주의 야게임. 영어 필수[/h1] 게임 거의 대부분의 시간을 스탠딩 CG+자막을 보고 있어야 함. 이 제작사 특징이 플레이어의 상상력을 최대한 끌어내기 위해 한명당 하나의 스탠딩CG, 소수의 배경화면만을 보여주는 방식인지라 플레이어가 영어를 반드시 알고 있어야 플레이하는데 지장이 없음. 아니 이 게임은 "플레이(Play)" 한다기 보다는 읽는( Read) 형식이라고 생각해야 할 것이다. 당신이 영어 책을 보는데 영어 모르면 문제가 있겠지? 이 게임 역시 동일하다. 영어 모르면 플레이해도 이 게임의 가치의 반의 반절도 못 보고 종료해야 함. CG자체는 잘 그렸다. 비록 많은량의 CG가 나오는것은 아니지만 CG자체는 잘 그렸음. 특히 배경화면에는 신경을 많이 썼다. 허나 이 게임은 CG보려고 하는 게임이 아니라 스토리를 읽기위해 하는 게임이기에... 영어 잘 해야함. 분명히 말한다. 영어 할 줄 알아야 함. 게임 스토리는 축구선수인 주인공이 부상으로 선수생활을 마감하고, 돈에 쪼들리기 시작할 때 누군가의 의뢰를 받아 카지노의 돈을 빼돌리는 스토리이다. 도중에 많은 만남이 있고 일부 여성들과는 교1미하기도 함. 선택지가 많이 나오는 게임으로 뭘 고르냐에 따라 갑자기 끝나기도 하고 H씬을 못 보고 지나가는 경우도 생기며, 엔딩이 달라진다. 막 고르다가는 그냥 게임오버 되니 주의할 것. 정 안되면 세이브/로드를 활용하자. H씬은 누드만 나온다. 그리고 보1지는 막아놨더라... CG자체는 잘 뽑았는데 누드만 있고 교1미하는 장면은 없으니 참고할 것.

I guess I don't understand how the 18+ patch works. I only seeing nudes. But otherwise not a bad game
