About

After agreeing to take on what seems like a mundane story about the unique city and its planned road bridge, journalist James Maynard finds himself uncovering a disturbing underbelly to the local customs, and a hideous core to the notion of Venetian pride.
Not even the might of Mussolini can truly kill the Carnival.
Winner of Best Lines of Dialogue - Adventure Games Of The Year 2025.

Carnival is an atmospheric folk horror point-&-click set in a time of European upheaval, where the past and the future collide. The protagonist must struggle with narcolepsy and its effect on both his memory and perception of the increasingly twisted reality around him.

The game features atmospheric low-resolution pixel art graphics, multiple locations drawn from Venice itself, and developing relationships with NPCs, allowing the player to influence events in the game and achieve multiple different endings.
Carnival now also features the full soundtrack (over three hours of atmospheric soundscapes), playable through Steam, for free!

Developed by Beyond Booleans, creator of Abscission, winner of three AGS awards.

Fun (albeit rather short) lovecraftian point and click adventure with outstanding writing and musical score. Recommended as a companion for rainy day!
Incredible script, excellent characters, and deep themes. This game is one I'll be thinking about for a long time!
Carnival genuinely creeped me out. The story was really intriguing and the game was fun to play through. If you're looking for a spooky point and click adventure, I recommend this game!!
interesting story, nice atmosphere, not too hard puzzles which suits me. Also, excellent score and audio. recommended!
A great adventure game!
Bra äventyrsspel!
Good writing, unsettling atmosphere, original setting and what a soundtrack from Bernardo Uzeda! I had a blast playing this lovecraftian point 'n click. Congrats to the solo dev for this journey. Now I can't wait for your third upcoming game.
Carnival turned out to be a great game, with a very interesting take on the mythos! It's amazing what a solo developer with an idea and passion can do. It seems that a sequel might be hinted at and i will be watching out for it.
Great game in the Lovecraft world. The atmosphere is fantastic, it is well written and does not waste your time. It took me only 2 hours to get the best ending. Puzzles are really easy. The best way to enjoy it is to put on headphones and play it at night.
While more visual novel than I recall his last game being, with the ending being the only time I really felt like I was playing a point & click game, I still enjoyed my time. As an artist, the author has grown by leaps and bounds, particularly in his faces, which were fantastic! The story was quite good and ended on a fascinating note. As a point & click game: 6/10 As a story: 9/10 Overall: 7.5/10
