It starts with a nice tutorial, where you learn the basic concepts of the game. There are of course many other details and strategies that you can only learn through playing. The game has 3 difficulty settings in single-player mode. And in multiplayer mode, you will be playing against each other. From what I can see, this is designed as a multiplayer game, but it is nice to play single-player if you are by yourself. Both you and your opponent will each start with a castle. Winning conditions are either fully upgrading your own castle or destroying that of your opponent. The game alternates between two types of turns, combat and building. Even though it's turn-based, you have a limited amount of time during your combat turn. If one player is in their combat turn, then the other player is in the building turn. So you are both simultaneously acting, but performing the different types of actions in a staggered format. During the combat turn, you will be able to use your resources to play unit cards, and you will always have 5 cards in your hand. This is basically a summoning phase, and the different units can be summoned adjacent to one of your buildings or one of your existing units. They each have a movement function and a attack function. Of course you will also have other units that heal, etc. Your units can move and attack as soon as they are summoned onto the field. There is no retaliation during attack. Your opponent will only attack during his/her combat turn. The turn ends when you end the combat turn or when you run out of time. Only the player in the combat turn can end the turn. During your building turn, you are constantly collecting resources by your building. You can also click the resources dropped by the sources constantly, but this is rather slow. So it's better to use your buildings built in strategic locations to collect resources constantly. For example, putting a woodcutter building next to trees will gather wood automatically and more efficiently. You will use your resources to build buildings or make upgrades during this turn-phase. You will also have 5 building cards in your hand that you can build next to your existing buildings or units. With the passing of time, you will be able to build better buildings, recruit better units, and also to upgrade what you have using your resources. On the map, which is revealed based on line of sight of your units as you move them around, you will run into resource piles, other wild animals, as well as your opponent's units and buildings. Play in a way that you wish in order to achieve one of the winning objectives and the game will end there. Be prepared to spend some time playing a game, as it could take quite a while. If you have a friend to play with, make sure that both of you have time to get through a full game.
Controls
Some keyboard shortcuts are in place to use, but you can play the entire game using a mouse.
Graphics
Nice simple graphics but with a decent amount of detail. It does look like a fancy board game. What is important is that the text is easy to read.
Music
Nothing special, you have the option of turning them on and off.
Pricing
The game has a set base price of 4.99 USD/3.99 Euro, which is very reasonable.
Positives
+Nice fun concept +Achievements +Good price +Replay value
Negatives
-Long loading times -The forced time-limit per turn might not be ideal for some people, though it is rather lenient and not a major problem. Perhaps having an option of turning this off during single-player mode would be nice. -Would be nice to have the ability to alter camera angles in addition of zooming in/out. Only have a single perspective available to look at the map/game board. -You can accidentally build buildings to form an isolated area where you have trapped units. They should be allowed to move in between buildings.
Conclusion
Cardlings is a nice adaptation of a card-based board game idea into a digital game. It is priced well and is definitely a fun concept. It is designed primarily as a 2 player game, so you would do well to grab a friend and play against each other.

Ищете интересные игры, но боитесь выбрать то, что не понравится? tl;dr - Fun (but basic) little budget friendly strategy game. Probably better in multiplayer https://youtu.be/JSN8BCfD-1E pros - super cheap, budget friendly - cool hybrid game play; part turn-based strategy, part real-time strategy, part card game - tutorial does a good job of preparing you for the game neutral - I have no problem with the basic graphics, but it might bother some people cons - If you don't have anyone to play with in multiplayer, facing the AI can get repetitive - Not a fan of how the 'F' key for 'next idle unit' works.
A very interesting game where each turn one player is in a combat phase summoning their units, commanding and attacking with them, while the other player is in the building phase gathering ressources (by clicking on the dropped ressources) and placing their economy buildings (those gather nearby ressources automatically in greater quantity). Each turn those roles rotate. Units and buildings can only be placed near adjecent buildings and units. Since only the player in the combat phase can end the turn (it ends automatically after 90 seconds), the player in the building phase can gather ressources by klicking on them while waiting for the other player to finish. While in the beginning those 90 seconds seemed to go by very fast and I missed some attacks/buildings while reading what everything does, later you can learn to click faster on all the buttons or use the shortkeys and the 90 second limit becomes much more manageble. I also didn't like the initial idea of a "clicker" to gather falling ressources, but then it was actually pretty interesting, since the longer the enemy takes to complete the comabt turn, the longer you can gather them, ex. the more units he summons and prepares for a big attack, the longer you have to gather ressources manually or place buildings to counter him. After finishing the tutorial, I started my first game on normal and won, the difficulty on normal is fair, although at the start the enemy had a lot more units since I had no idea what unit does what and took me time to checkk all the stats. A game lasts approx. 30-45 mins. I think the game is mostly made for multyplayer, but I'll definitely also recommend this game for singleplayer. Also, praise to Eric Matyas for the great title screen music! Small edit: Sadly it seems the multiplayer doesn't work anymore.
I'd like to see more for this game. It has really no 'story' mode or anything that keeps you playing it, it ends rather quickly unless you want to go online. I'd like to see a story mode, card upgrades, transforms, things that add more depth. For a cheap game it's good but I won't spend hours playing it. I would love to see the ability to rotate buildings or destroy plants / stones that are in the way, as well as the ability to go THROUGH buildings with your troops or around trees as it can be too easy to trap the troops.
I really want to like this game! It has such an interesting dynamic game flow. The push and pull of timing your plays to be as precise and efficient as possible to end your turn before your opponent gets a chance to build up as much is very interesting. Sadly, the parts I was most looking forward to are the parts that could still use some work. The card based unit selection is fine, if a bit random. Card based building however seems to have some issues. If the game goes on long enough, I end up with a hand full of entirely gold mines turn after turn, when there are at most 2-3 on the map at any given time and once they're built they're either destroyed or bribed, so there's no reason to have more than 3-4 in the entire 'deck'. Being able to view the 'deck' for units and buildings or at least know what the hand drawing mechanics are would help me feel less frustrated about this. If I could customize my decks, even just tweaking the balance of the existing types of cards, that would go a long way to improving my play experience. This game feels like a base game waiting for expansions to really expand it into something truly great. I'll check back in later and see if things have gotten better, but cannot recommend for the time being.
I had this on my wishlist for a few months before purchasing it, intrigued by the combination of turn-based strategy, cards and resource gathering. However, when I started playing it, I discovered that there really wasn't that much to it, when the game actually wanted to progress beyond the loading screen that is. Turns out it would only start up if I had a medium sized world selected. So I jumped right into it, started a normal skill level game, only to find that within five turns all the additional buildings I had somehow managed to build were destroyed, and most of my units with them. The neighboring PC player was right next to me and I discovered the hard way that it was quite technologically superior, which prompted me to start a new game on the Easy level on a large world. But then, it wouldn't start on large, so I had to go back to medium. This time, no nearby PC players, but the unlimited turn just kept on going. I was constructing building after building during my second turn, so many that I was running out of room on the map. In the end I just got fed up with it so I quit, then uninstalled it. I've gotten more value out of games that I paid less for.
