No Boobs, no Hentai- just good Novel with a nice Idea.
I really enjoyed the reading and the art. Sometimes I laught out loud, sometimes I cryed out loud. Sometimes I was desperate. Sometimes I was confused. But all this emotions was totally worth. 12 Euro for 10h gameplay ( if u skipping the part u already read ) is also totally worth. You have to make you own opinion. I would recommend it! Kota
You roleplay as a college student with a bunch of students who are all some combination of mentally-handicapped, autistic, childish or psychotic - arguably all of the above for 2 characters. Of course, the plot is also weird and random and autistic. I am not saying this to mock anyone, it's the fault of whoever wrote this game to have dumb and unconvincing characters - parodies of real people. But Campus Notes does have redeeming features, I did buy this game after all. The character art is amazing, in its quality and in all the variety of expressions. The backgrounds are good too. The cheesy carnival music can be muted. And you can save your game. And umm.... , it was on sale for 50% off. Yep, that's all I can say.

Campus Notes--forget me not was something completely unexpected and truly unforgettable as a result. I really must stop being judgmental estimating the games just by their store page and some screenshots. Though it's much more fun to realize later how wrong I was! At first I thought it's a typical romance novel about Japanese university life. Nothing remarkable or memorable. Though my first impressions were positive as the game has

pretty visuals--sprites are really cute. I can't say I'm a fan of games with male MC but those three love options are adorable. Backgrounds look very realistic and help to create that special atmosphere of Japanese reality as all graphics is based on real scenery. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1665492256
good English though with some weird punctuation, for example, double dashes and eclipses in the middle of the line. There're typos but not many, nothing to distract from the story too much.
nice writing, both clever and funny that made me grin very early and ask myself many questions afterwards to keep me rooted.
trading cards with a cute 5th level badge and 54 achievements. I enjoy the games with lots of achs, it feels rewarding to get one at the end of each chapter or after some crucial choice.
PLOT was the most astonishing thing in this game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1665615615 I repeat I didn't expect anything deep here. At first it was fun to dive into that unique Japanese world, to learn some tiny engaging details like grading system in the university. It's an interesting fact that the University of Tsukuba is not fictional and this indie game studio, 4th cluster, was even established from there. So the setting is really true-to-life and we can fully enjoy this campus slice of life. Also, it was captivating to learn the meaning of some Japanese words. What I especially love in the process of learning foreign languages is finding some fascinating words non-existent in my native language. For example here was mentioned 'assuming someone is tired and wishing them to rest' greeting. I'd like to have it in my own language xD So, at first I thought these slightly educational and cultural aspects (national cuisine, shrines, local myths) of the game would be enough for the positive review and light relaxing experience. But... Soon I realized I was actually enjoying reading a lot as the game has some really funny and surprising plot twists. Then quite mysterious elements were weaved into the storyline. In each route each girl presents her own quite enthralling theory trying to explain that perplexing situation they appeared to be in. Some of the ideas expressed in the game were really mind-blowing. It was some crazy mixture of science, religion, philosophy and myths. Some interesting moral dilemmas were shown with quite surprising answers. That rare game where options seemed so meaningful I actually had to ponder over them for some time before choosing anything. I can't remember any other visual novel looking so light and cute but with such deep topics. So, love relationship seems not that important here taking a back seat. Even being on a date with a cute girl we suddenly discuss quantum theory. Just jaw-dropping! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1665564326 The only thing I disliked was tiny absolutely unreadable backlog. Apart from that the game really is impressive! It was gripping till the very end. The final theory presented by MC and the true ending were quite exciting! The guide is available on steam by the way. According to steam discussions the devs went bankrupt, it's their only game. It's such a pity! I'm sure they could create more incredible games if their first try was so amazing! I recommend to try at least this game. I'm sure it will be unforgettable!

[th]Find more in a Reading Nook [/th]

I was drawn to this game because the graphics looked beautiful and the story seemed interesting. I only played for two hours, then skipped through the rest of the game because I wanted to see how the story would develop and ultimately end. I'm kinda glad I skipped so much because the plot never got interesting. The characterization of the characters was too shallow and Anime for me, the background music distracted me constantly from reading. Well, the graphics are great and it's still kinda fun to try for all the Steam achievements but that's all I can recommend about this game.
Campus Notes is a short Visual Novel, which I have somewhat mixed feelings about. The core concept is good, an interesting story idea about a group of new friends who are forgotten by everyone around them each day. They remember eachother and have to solve the mystery of what's happening around them. This is achieved through three routes, a true route, and a final conclusion. None of this takes very long, but there are over 50 achievements and it felt satisfying to collect them all. The intiial three routes play out mostly the same, but there are small sections which are different depending on what romance plot you end up on. Aside from these small scenes and CG's, the story doesn't really change or branch off in different directions. Unfortunately, the translation work is adequate at best. You can understand the emotion behind the characters but a lot of the dialogue is awkardly phrased or just sounds off. I got the impression it was translated by someone competent but maybe not a native speaker, or just inexperienced with translation work. It's not a deal breaker, just be aware of it. On top of that, the conclusion felt very rushed with characters that we know hardly anything about doing a lot of info-dumping. Maybe the story was too ambitious for the shorter running time, or there was just time pressure to get the game released. The artwork is good, but limited- characters are expressive but there's not a wide variety of poses and expressions. The CG's are infrequent but really nicely drawn. I was particularly impressed by the soundtrack, it just stood out as unique and haunting. A little repetitious at times, but sets the mood of the story well. All in all, defintiely worth a read but I can't shake the feeling that this could have been something more special with the right TLC.
✔️ Tested on Steam Deck, it works fine (12/09/2025). 'A' button to advance text and touchscreen/buttons for menu and choices. Reading this VN made my braincells hurt (this is a positive thing btw!) and it's been an entertaining read. The replayability to get all the achievements was really bad tho because the skip feature didn't work properly (for me at least).
This VN looked interesting so I thought i'd give it a try. Honestly, all in all, I enjoyed it. Positives -Very nice art - Likeable characters - Decent length Negatives - no voice acting - got very wordy at times (in terms of philosophical discussions) - romantic endings slightly lackluster I do like how each of the three girls had their own ending as well as a special scene for them for the true ending, but I feel as if the romance aspect was a tad lacking at times. One thing i have to say i'm happy with was that i enjoyed all three of the girls. there wasn't a single one i disliked. And that's rare. so good job! Best girl is definitely Togi though. All in all, I really did enjoy this VN. The characters were quirky and fun, and the story was interesting and had a twist i wasn't expecting. I would recommend it. If they ever released an update with voice acting, i'd definitely download it. i'd say..... 7/10
