Exam Anxiety : The Game
Pretty neat little game inspired by some JRPG titles with some good math puzzles. The story is solid but at the same time is all over the place and some writing choices are bizarre to say the least. Our main kid is a good lad but maybe not the smartest in his school. But after he helps his fellow student clear some of his suicidal thoughts (yeah) , a lovely Goddess of Mathematics visits him in his dream and offers her help with his forthcoming exam. And just like that our journey begins. The rest of the game is math challenges and some cutscenes. The are 4 math challenges in total and they are not too hard even on expert difficulty (but i wasn't good in mathematics in school or anywhere else so i spend a bit more time with one particular puzzle). This is , of course , an RPG Maker game and this means that this game is glitchy in some areas. The main menu is barebones : you can't change a single thing. You can't even turn the volume up/down or change the resolution. But i was expecting this stuff 'cause i played some RPG Maker games in the past and it didn't bother me that much. It is what it is. Speaking of OST - it is quite good and suits this game really well. Controls are fine and the whole gameplay is simple but good - no complaints here. It is really a simple and short game : you want to play it for the puzzles and not for some clunky and kinda cringey story. Puzzles are hard enough and will definitely occupy your brain for a couple of hours, This game gets the job done and it's the most important thing. P.S. Remember kids , don't skip school !
