No growth options, management, finance, customisation or alternative tasks. Picking up a coffee & cake/croissant for each customer is the whole game. Zero purpose in being able to interact with customers as they all repeat the same dialogue. Customers will sometimes skip the queue and then refuse to be served by walking away. Only one character will talk to you and their story just abruptly ends.
Video: https://youtu.be/4XXhgWA6Svo There's a beginning to the idea here. We've got a cafe. The ability to serve pastries, and coffee. Customers. But, it is missing the general depth most of us have come to expect with a game like this. What we're left with is a fairly simplistic cafe serving simulator that fails to really capture your interest for long. I don't mean to imply that the game is bad, there's just not much here for anyone that's not the most casual of cafe running fans. There are some conversations with customers, but they are mostly the same. I ran into one dude who had a bit more to say than the rest, and patiently waited for him to return. But by the time I'd served my 30th coffee I felt like I had found myself in some sort of Groundhog Day situation. Cursed to roam the insides of this small cafe and serve assorted drinks and pastries to customers that only knew a small collection of words. Caught in the grasp of the hopeful throws of ambition. Anyway, the video linked above captures my experience. I think with some various additions that make the experience have a bit more depth we'd have a much better experience. Fingers crossed that magic happens.
Very simple and repetitive in a good way. The kinda way in which you can lose yourself for an hour or two just serving coffee and cake.
This game is unfortunately, truly terrible. Unlike most cafe games, there is no room to upgrade or customise your cafe, you can't learn any new recipes. The gameplay insists entirely of serving each customer a drink and a cake, but there's no gameplay element to any of this. You don't actually make the drinks or prepare the cakes, you just left click to pick them up. The graphics are pretty atrocious, and there's an attempt at a 'story' through a regular customer who talks to you but it's very flat. After I'd served 20 customers the game told me I could keep serving, or leave the cafe. I hoped leaving the cafe meant ending the day (although several day and night cycles had passed) and maybe I could upgrade something, but nope, the credits rolled with an AI voice doing the narration. After 13 minutes of gameplay. Reading the game description on Steam is very frustrating, especially the line 'Master the art of coffee-making and food preparation, tailored to each order' when this specific action in the game is just one button click. I absolutely do not recommend this game.
