Neat little puzzle game based around sound. Really enjoyed it and there was probably enough content for the price. Some interfaces were a bit out of sync (like an afterthought) and some things missing but it seems to be the first game from the developer. Also pruchased this to support a South African developer. Would also have appreciated Steam Deck support as it is a small game and would run well there, but you can't have everything.
A great puzzle game. Fun, satisfying and relaxing!
What an incredibly beautiful and considered puzzle game. The style, sound design, and game play and thought out and delightful.
Cadence is a gem. It's charming, challenging and rewarding, but it's also elegant and original in a way that modern games...aren't. It feels like it was made with love, like it says in the intro.
It's been basically a decade since I last played Cadence. I'm very proud to see how far it's come. Better late than never! I had to configure the UI a bit for my big ass monitor but the settings were easy to find. There was also a minor issue where you can drag the map and mess up interacting with the tiles but I sorted it out so no biggie. For those wanting something chill to play between games where you've rage quit or waiting for friends this is great. I didn't feel like playing my fifth Soulslike right now and remembered I forgot to play this! D: I didn't realize it's also a therapy session where after solving each puzzle the cat with headphones, I'll call Caddie, gives you some advice. Caddie encourages you to take that step forward, failure is actually an option because the more you fail the more you learn until you succeed. Caddie is a sweet motivator, be like Caddie! The instructions so far are very simple. Click and drag your mouse across a tile to direct the music. Once it reaches Caddie and wakes them up you've solved it. The trickiness comes in loops and various mechanics such as hitting a tile with notes at the same time or having tiles be locked in a certain direction. So far some puzzles have wracked my brain and trial and error is usually my brute force way. However I have actually big brained a sequence of puzzles so much so that I surprised myself. I would like more music to play while solving the puzzles as right now it's more like a gentle breeze which while relaxing can be a bit boring and the game has potential to have the zen music playing while solving the puzzles and the upbeat loops be the reward after. Overall a game that can engage you much the same way CatStax can! (CatStax is also insanely hard later!)
This is an absolutely amazing game. It's chill, wholesome, and delightful. The puzzles are challenging, yet really fun. You can complete the game in a few hours if you don't do all the hard levels - but it feels like if you're forgetful like me there's total replayability! The creator is such a neat idea, and that's the next level of challenge to me: create your own puzzles, or just your own beats. I cannot recommend this game more, it's absolutely a blast. Thank you to the devs for a key, but I know I'll be buying gifts for friends!
good game
A lovely experience which hits the right balance of cosy and challenging.
It's kinda a rhythm game but not really. Grid based game where goal is to create a self sustaining loop in a network to deliver music to a cat. Love the minimalist art style. Unique puzzle mechanic that I haven't played at least. Anyway, stop reading this review and give the game a try.
