This was quite nice. The whole complex is here, including lots of details like conference rooms and stuff like that. The interactions are nice, inclduing a watch where the face opens your inventory and the belt has the menu. I've always been very curious about this place and they show you everything there is to see. I assume this isn't 1:1 since certain parts of the building have photos of the place you're in, and they allude to the real one being in worse shape. They have a piano, a helicopter, and a lot of other stuff. There aren't many hand poses, although on the flashlight this lets you hold it how you like. Performance is mixed. They have a very realistic art and lighting style, and the game can be quite sharp if you crank up the resolution, but that will lower your frame rate so a sharp experience will require motion smoothing. The helicopter is reasonably well done and overall this is a lot better than most things in this genre. My only cons would be that this primarily shows you how the monument is now (but touched up since it's in really bad shape in real life), rather than in the 70s. You can see certain details as they were, like the remains of certain murals and such, but to see that you have to shine your flashlight on it. The monument itself from the outside looks as it did at night, but during the day has a giant lion on the side rather than the star. And to change from day to night (it applies while inside the monument as well) you have to go up to the balcony to change it. I would have liked to be able to change night and day in my menu, and to set all the details to be revealed without the flashlight. I'm most interested in seeing this place as it was, or as close as is possible, since I was born a while after the cold war ended and I've studied the eastern bloc but it still feels like another planet. So all the communist murals, the internationale at the entrance, a 70s lobby and cafe, etc. If you're at all concerned about this being controversial, they're about as muted and objective as can be. Usually I'm skeptical of VR being used to show history but this is primarily about architecture and the present, although ironically I wish this let me walk through this place in its communist heyday. I don't know what the devs future plans are but a game where we deal with party intrigue at Buzludzha would be interesting. Maybe get it on sale but it's pretty well done and if you're the kind of person who visits places like this it's good quality and worth picking up.
quick review; wow, this is amazing quality and performance. i will book my next trip to bulgaria.
An Incredible experience! You would think that this is junk software but it's not. It even comes with a free workout routine. I climbed the ladder on the outside of that big tower. Boy was I tired when I got to the top. I can't believe this gem flew by me.
This game provided a wonderful sense of place to a location I knew nothing about. I would recommend this experience to anyone who enjoys guided tours or enjoys visiting places that have been abandoned.
Short but really neat VR experience. Well researched and has a handful of little mechanics to make the exploration fun and engaging. :)
If you're in market for, what one might term an alternative museum/ historical tour that devolves faster than a #Diablo mobile launch announcement, this is your jam https://youtu.be/UO2SvK-w3-g
Very nice VR experience. Fells like a short trip to another country.
Probably the very best example of a VR title based on a tourist visit to a building, regardless of the fact that this particular building is different from the norm. I feel like I have visited the venue and now know its history probably more than if I had really visited. This is a brilliant example of VR done well, creative thinking and brilliant ideas, from clicking on a picture to visit that place to the helicopter ride. Awesome VR title. I recommend this to see what can be done in VR. If you have any interest in the actual building its a no brainer.
Educational, amazing visuals, and some fun items to play around with. I was honestly surprised how much I enjoyed this. A worthy VR experience.
