About
Car Factory Empire is a game where you create and manage a car company. You have to lead it to market success, participate in races, develop and create cars, study new technologies, fight for the market, capture and buy new factories and production facilities. This is the world's first hybrid of three genres set in the early days of the automotive industry: a production simulator, a global strategy game, and dynamic racing!
The events of the game take place at the beginning of the 20th century, at the dawn of the automobile era. You have to create a car company from scratch. Learn how to produce and sell the first cars, regularly improve and refine them in order to compete in the market with other manufacturers. You have to manage all the production processes of your factory, regulate production, find buyers, manage research and design cars. More than 100 automotive technologies and over 10 different bodies will make the process of creating a car exciting and multifaceted. You also have to extract resources for production, capture raw materials factories and keep them under control, fight for market share with other manufacturers, participate in races on the cars you created, take part in various competitions. This game features elements of a production simulator, global strategy and dynamic racing. All this will give you the opportunity to feel like a real car tycoon! Produce expensive and fast cars or cheap and mass-produced ones? The choice is yours!
In Car Factory Empire, the player creates his own car company. The player will have to choose a name for his company, decide what cars he wants to produce. The choice will be available: luxury, budget, sports models. Only the player can decide what kind of car factory and its cars will be. The produced cars will be quoted according to a special rating, which consists of such characteristics as: quality, reliability, speed and price. Based on these characteristics, during the game you will look for buyers for your cars, but the main thing is to start producing and selling cars! The first cars will be slightly primitive, but by making a profit from sales, the player will be able to develop and implement new technologies in the design of cars, making them better. In the scientific building, the player can research new bodies and units for cars, improve production buildings at his factory. In the administrative building, the player will be able to manage the staff of his factory and control production processes.
To produce and study new machines, the player will need resources and raw materials that must be earned and accumulated by capturing resource mines and buildings with his representatives on the global map. Computer opponents will fight with the player for control of these buildings. The goal of the game: to take a key share in the car market, taking the largest cities on the map under your influence and control. To illustrate the work done to produce cars, the player will be able to personally manage them and evaluate the created cars in racing races against AI. All technologies introduced by the player into the design of cars will affect the control of the car, speed, braking, power reserve and much more!
In Car Factory Empire, the player can also lose if his company goes bankrupt or produces bad cars that do not have a target audience. But what kind of car factory will be and how it will come to victory is up to the player to decide! You can make your cars popular and mass-produced or, on the contrary, achieve success by producing luxury and prestigious models in small editions, earning glory in racing! The choice is yours!

TLDR: I re-read this and it seems harsh, but I really hope the game develops more. As I mess around with it more I may update this, but my initial impression is that Car Factory Empire is a cool idea in the car manufacturing niche, but it wasn't ready for EA. I'm borderline on refunding this after my first little look at it, but it's $9.99 and I've nothing to do this evening so I may fool around with it some more. It's definitely something that I *should* totally love, but there are bugs since it's day-3 EA and more annoyingly literally nothing is explained. I have no idea why I can't do certain things when I have the money, or why the agent person can't drive to the gas station so each day I just trade the lumber mill back and forth with the competitor (this isn't fun or engaging, just annoying). I have no idea if there is a way to protect the lumber mill but maybe that's in the tech tree or something. I had no idea why I couldn't research things when I had the cash, but figured that out I guess. I have no idea why I can't test the cars. It says you have to save it first, but I've saved it to a line and have been producing it, so... huh? I had no idea why my factory stopped producing but figured out I need some wrench things, so I went to the assembly plant for that and it can't assemble them because I don't have the resources. Where do I get the resources other than wood from the lumber mill? No idea. I went to the bank where it says you can order resources for $, and clicked to do so, but nothing happened. Is this a bug? Another thing that I just need to click around until I figure it out or don't figure it out? If I can't get resources, the game just ends since I can't produce cars. This feels more like what I'm used to as an alpha/pre-EA play-test on Steam rather than Early Access to be sold. To be frank, the two pre-EA testers I'm fooling with now are more ready than this game, but I buy way too many games to be mad about something like that at this point so it's just a little annoying. No click to move the map with mouse is a little annoying too, and no pause with space bar is always annoying in the rare games that don't have it like this one, but the bugs and the whole idea of just having to click around and try to figure things out yourself in a manufacturing game with logistics and competition for resources and such, is just really bad. For some reason the camera stutters moving around the map too, which I've just never seen in a game like this, but I'd assume that's something that will get worked out if the game gets updates. Car Manufacture was a total dud, Production Line is basically a buggy ancient mess, and I can't even remember the names of the dozen or so other car manufacturing games that have appeared and faded away, so I guess once I get too frustrated with this it's back to Gear City. As I'm writing this I'm thinking I'll keep it and screw around some more, wait for updates, and see what happens because the options are few and terrible other than Gear City which is amazing but just spreadsheets, and this is pretty inexpensive so I think they know where they are with it right now. edit: fixed typo
Last review update 12/11/2025 V.0.7.60

Recommended as a game with alot of potential and good chances of delivering a REALLY good game when finished.

Not recommended for people who want a fully polished and playable game yet

Bugs and issues below
I see a lot of potential for this game, it is very early access, there's not much guidance and some bugs. The developers are looking closely at all feedback in the reviews and taking notes and are acting accordingly, you don't see that often, bringing my expectations for the future of this game way up. I do not recommend this game if your expecting a finished product as this game is very clearly not, if your buying your here for the ride and support something amazing in the future. The foundation for a really good game is here and time and effort is all it needs to be good. I played around 30 minutes and am still trying to figure out the mechanics and what everything means and their purpose. Due to being early access I'm giving this a positive review as this game isn't finished and can become really good if done right. Though fair warning to any potential buyer, this is in a niche zone that doesn't get a large audience and being a unknown dev(s) I highly doubt this game will gain traction which could mean there's potential for this game to be dropped like many others before its truely finished. Though how the developers are handling things I can see this game hitting a finished state at the very least. 4/10 Not user friendly, difficult to understand, work in progress, good framework with amazing potential

Issues and bugs I find as I play:

[th]issue[/th][th]Severity[/th]

No tutorial of any kind explaining anything Add a tutorial or see next issue

There is a about menu telling about resources, gameplay, car assembly, etc but its located in the top right corner when you click on the portrait, where you would not expect to look for help on the game.
Essentially, this is an alpha version. The game is from an unknown developer, so naturally there are bugs, errors, and so on at launch... If you're expecting a finished product, pass it by. If you enjoy being a beta tester, this is your choice! The developers actively listen to the community and respond to almost all messages and suggestions. Every two days, patches are released with fixes based on user requests. This surprised and pleased me; it's rare to see such feedback. The developers are thinking correctly, the game has enormous potential, and the scale of the planned development is already visible. If you want to participate in the development, I recommend it. Otherwise, wait another month while the game is polished)
This game is.... unique. One part macro level strategy sim and one part arcade racer. I have mixed feelings about the racing aspect tbh but the game on the whole is fun. There are bugs. At first it was honestly unplayable but the devs clearly have a passion for this project and seem to be pretty cool and responsive so for that alone, they're a cut above a lot of others I've seen. Updates have been almost daily and the game is now playable, at least on my system. For the price, I'd honestly say it's really worth a look ! Just be prepared to kind of experiment a bit as it doesn't really explain itself all that well.
concept is a good idea and after some tweaks will be a good game i have enjoyed the game so far it had a couple of problem to start with but overall been a good game. in a few months this will be a epic game when all the stuff is sorted out properly and additions are made too
This game clearly has a lot of potential, but unfortunately it feels extremely unpolished in its current state. Several of the audio cues and message boxes are still in German, which makes basic actions like saving or closing pop-ups confusing and frustrating. Even on Easy mode the game feels poorly balanced. The constant police takeovers of your production facilities become overwhelming to the point of absurdity — at one point I had so many factories shut down that it became impossible to keep up, which completely killed the fun. I really wanted to enjoy this and give it the benefit of the doubt, but unless I’m missing something (especially since I don’t speak or read German), the game is borderline unplayable in its current form. Very disappointing. :(
